You should decide what system you want to use, not base it on the color of the system. You needed to learn how to use the PC, so why not learn how to use another system. It's not rocket science..![]()
Well stated, Jimmie!Jimmie said:Laurens question was how can you transfer the levels of abrasiveness to other pads since hers are being discontinued.
I concur with the rest of your observations as they apply to myself..![]()

koibybrian said:Nick, steered me to the Edge Pads. They are great! I am greatfull for that. I use Blue and White, maybe takes a while longer. But it is enjoyment. I like to note the quick release does not get hot.
ltoman said:Koibybrian,
May I ask what you mean by the quick release does not get hot?
(That just doesn't sound right.....)
But seriously, what do you mean in regards to the Edge pads and that comment?
Thanks in advance.
You know the LC pads never got warm on the PC for me. Do Edge pads?

nick19 said:Edge pads do get hot, as should the LC pads. The PC produces some heat, needed to break down some polishes and compounds. Without the heat, you're just going to mar the paint with the polish.
Maybe you can try the PC on speed 6, and apply a lot of pressure to the head of the PC. Move the PC about 1" every second and do half a panel at a time.
If after you use XMT #3 with the yellow pad, on speed 6, and you STILL have the spider-webbing you talk about, or it has NOT gotten noticeably better, its probably a user error.

ltoman said:Oh no as in total frustration. I need to get out to the pc again. But it never gets hot. Maybe a little warm -
maybe I am being too picky.
Take out my lenses and she will look perfect! Lol
I know about the pressure, area/space, timing.....
Tires me out just thinking about it!
Mike T said:Edge pads are centered perfectly do to the bit. They are dual sided as well. So if one side gets gummed up you can flip the pad over and have a fresh side to work with. Also you can change pads quickly and be on center every time. I recently switched from LC pads to Edge wave pads and have not looked back. As an added bonus with the Edge system you can switch from 6in to 4in pads without having to change backing plates. The "bit" handles both sizes.
