PC Pad Questions - now what? Help!

But you are also comparing different systems and pads...

You should decide what system you want to use, not base it on the color of the system. You needed to learn how to use the PC, so why not learn how to use another system. It's not rocket science.. :D

Laurens question was how can you transfer the levels of abrasiveness to other pads since hers are being discontinued.
I concur with the rest of your observations as they apply to myself..:)

Well stated, Jimmie!

Nicky is mad at me.

hahaha Lauren your funny. I agree with all the feed back your getting here the Edge is probably the best way to go but at the same time it's a personal preference. I ordered some LC pads to have as back up and I also ordered the Edge waved pads. Like Nick says it's good to experiment with different systems I wanted to try as many systems as possible. Lauren try the Edge pads, you won't be disappointed the centering thing is wicked but I've never really have tried the hook and loop system but will be trying it soon. The Edge pads don't disappoint. You saw the Volvo right, well that was using the orange Edge pad. Besides, other more experienced members here use the Edge pads and say lots of good things like Justin for example. Well just my opinion and don't feel silly asking questions if you don't know you ask there is no dumb question here....because if there were I think I'd win that category lol.

In NO way did I INTEND for that statement to be directed to anyone. Just a general comment, and I guess it could be intended in a different way. The best thing I should do is just delete it.

Just clarifying.
It's all good, Nick!
We all love you!

Nick, steered me to the Edge Pads. They are great! I am greatfull for that. I use Blue and White, maybe takes a while longer. But it is enjoyment. I like to note the quick release does not get hot.

Koibybrian,
May I ask what you mean by the quick release does not get hot?
(That just doesn't sound right.....)
But seriously, what do you mean in regards to the Edge pads and that comment?
Thanks in advance.
You know the LC pads never got warm on the PC for me. Do Edge pads?

Lauren:D :D

Edge pads do get hot, as should the LC pads. The PC produces some heat, needed to break down some polishes and compounds. Without the heat, you're just going to mar the paint with the polish.

Maybe you can try the PC on speed 6, and apply a lot of pressure to the head of the PC. Move the PC about 1" every second and do half a panel at a time.

If after you use XMT #3 with the yellow pad, on speed 6, and you STILL have the spider-webbing you talk about, or it has NOT gotten noticeably better, its probably a user error.

:( :( :( oh no!

Oh no as in total frustration. I need to get out to the pc again. But it never gets hot. Maybe a little warm -
maybe I am being too picky.
Take out my lenses and she will look perfect! Lol
I know about the pressure, area/space, timing.....
Tires me out just thinking about it!

Well the webbing surely isn't going to jump off your car silly! :D

Get out there with XMT and get a grip on that spider webbing ASAP! ;)

Edge pads are centered perfectly do to the bit. They are dual sided as well. So if one side gets gummed up you can flip the pad over and have a fresh side to work with. Also you can change pads quickly and be on center every time. I recently switched from LC pads to Edge wave pads and have not looked back. As an added bonus with the Edge system you can switch from 6in to 4in pads without having to change backing plates. The "bit" handles both sizes.

Aha. I see how they operate now! Thanks MikeT!
