PC speed with megs MF

What speed is the proper setting for the d300 step on a PC? I tried searching no luck :(
 
The D300 with the cutting disc should be ran at 4800OPM. Different tools have different settings. When you say PC, are you talking about the first generation ones like the 7424 or G100? If so, you need to run it at speed 5.

Here are the proper speed settings for each tool to be used with the D300/cutting discs:

G110v2:
Speed 4 - 4800OPM.

GG6:
Speed 3.5 - 4650OPM.

PCXP:
Speed 4 - 4800OPM

7424/G100:
Speed 5 - 4780OPM

Recommended speed on PC is 4... However your results my vary deepening on the paint you are working on. Settings are just guidelines. Nothing is written in stone for any product recommendation.
 
I use the GG DA and I stay at speed 4 most the time sometimes bump to 4.5 or 5 for a pass or 2 or I will go down to 3 to 3.5 at times

I know I have seen this before - where was this published/by whom?
(I am not questioning you at all, just couldn't remember where I had seen it).

i use 4.5, speed 4 just doesnt cut for me. pad doesnt spin
 
Just to chime in the goal is to maintain pad rotation without generating heat over time that will have a negative accumulative effect on the pads and the backing plates.

All the DA Polishers are a little different in motors and design and thus a little different when buffing, buffing being applying downward pressure while maintaining pad rotation. Mark your backing plate so you can easily see that the backing plate is in fact rotating and not just vibrating or jiggling against the paint.

Think I remember this being posted on megs online

Someone on a.....a posted at megs classes don't recommend going past speed four with the gg6 polisher.
