Permanon Platinum

If someone wants to take the plunge and get the big bottle, I'd be interested in a sample for sure. Would be willing to compensate them accordingly.

I'm with you guys, I simply cannot justify spending this kind of cash on a product that I may not like to begin with. That being said, I've very interested in trying it at a more introductory friendly cost.

Any chances AG could sell samples of Permanon?

Thanks to Richy, Jim and other fine folks over on L2D I was able to get in on the group by. This is an amazing product and if there's one product that's easy to apply and actually repels dust and dirt making washing easy this is it!

Are you using it as a stand alone LSP, over a "wax", or over a coating?

What's the difference between the Diamond Finish and the Platinum Finish???

^^^+2^^^

If these variables were to be further explained:

{Besides more concentration of: Silicium (14Si)...(If indeed so);
and, these products costs/price-points}...

What's the difference(s) between:
-Permanon Platinum
-Permanon Car Supershine
-Permanon Diamond

Thanks in advance to those that offer explanations/advise/guidance
to these queries of mine..

:)

Bob

They sent me (and everyone else) samples when we talked to them at SEMA....

I believe it is Ron, that's who I bought my Wolfs products from...
How do you like it? Just put it on my G and plan to top it with Permanon every few weeks. Super slick...hope it lasts.

Man even if they offered samples it wouldn't be cheap.... Compare to the big bottles....
Look at their sample size waxes......

I would still much rather take a chance on a $50 sample product than a $200+ product!

Well i see where ur coming from... I dont mind if the sample is like priced equally as a big bottle.
I mean it is the same product just in a smaller version, so it shouldnt be more expensive...

I read about it some time ago: it seems that it works well...until the first wash (the promised 4 washes durability is not being delivered).

Yea, I read some of those reviews too - it seems that neither of these no-touch application products live up to their durability claims.

I wonder why they don't sell it as a premixed product like a spray wax for $20.00? Maybe it has a shelf life when mixed with water.

I was only considering this if it could be used as a stand-a-lone. 4 washes, if that, for $100+?!?! You've gotta be kidding me!

I think it was made pretty clear that Wolf's has an exclusive distributor here in the US, so it wasn't in the cards for AG to carry (I may be mistaken but that's how I remember it).

this is a business and money talks. If Autogeek invested I have a hard time believing that Wolfs would contractually bind themselves into not expanding. I would think its more of a "loose" agreement that you are the "exclusive" distributor. Nowadays the word "exclusive" is thrown around because your the only guy in town who was gutsy enough to invest at that time in a product that is unknown to the average car guy.

Ivan - PM sent on a possible "group buy" to sample this out for ourselves before we all invest in a full 500ml/1L option.

If any of you guys are interested, it'd be $38/person and each member would receive just over 5.5 ounces of product. We're looking for a few more members!!

I tried Platinum and too wondered the difference in Diamond. Which is better , for what, and why ??

I'll gladly provide some more insight into the Permanon coatings. :dblthumb2:

1. Platinum: This is the most popular product in the Permanon line. It features the highest concentration of said Silicium (14Si). Compared to other Permanon coatings, Platinum provides the highest gloss and longest lasting protection. When used on hard interior surfaces, it imparts a smooth, tactile feel (no shine).

2. Diamond: From my understanding Diamond is formulated with both Silicium (14Si) and advanced polymers. It too creates a high gloss on painted surfaces, but not as much as Platinum. Upon speaking to the folks at Permanon, they mentioned that Diamond is very popular for hard interior surfaces (wood and aluminum trim) including clear plastics (gauge clusters, etc). It provides exceptional UV protection on said surfaces and doesn't alter the look or feel.

3. Car Supershine: This product came before Diamond and Platinum. It is an "all-around" coating; it is popular for use on exterior and interior surfaces. It is also very popular in the marine/RV world.

Platinum is the "shining star" in the Permanon line. it provides the highest gloss and the longest lasting paint protection. For those of you that have a fascination with touching your interior plastics, you'll appreciate the smooth, tactile feel that Platinum creates.

Hope that helps!

What "investment" are we talking about? The investment in inventory that's on the shelf? And if you think that anything in today's litigious world is a "loose" agreement then I'm not sure you know anything about distributor or marketing arrangements.

Have you ever talked to Sal Zaino about why people who live in NJ (which is where Zaino is located...or at least where Sal lives) cannot order products from his website? If you have, he'll tell you it's due to agreements made "before the existence of the internet". Surely Sal Zaino wouldn't bind himself into not being able to sell products from his own website...would he?

Good luck- This whole thing sound nuts. I have this great wax for -------. One time and you never need to wax your car again.

I actually sold retail for a while, so yes I know how it works VERY well. and most agreements with exclusivity are pretty loose and are time constrained. Have you ever sold retail and dealt with distributors ? or are you just giving an opinion ?

As for Autogeek investing. NO, i'm talking products that are on the shelf only. I'm talking future sales and marketing, including there forum word of mouth. thats a big deal when it comes to investing. not just the initial order.

and for Zaino, no I dont know their story, but one thing i DO KNOW, considering I did internet retail for a while is that things get VERY hairy with the taxman once you start selling product in your own state. I'll just leave it at that. and yes, this is from a law that started before the internet and is something that the federal government is trying very hard to make a federal law that sales tax need be charged no matter what state the product is being sold.

do those answers help ? or were you just being sarcastic ?
