picking a good APC

and being what are the problems with Simple Green? Stains, residue, smells bad, what???? Curious as to why not to use... Buehler, Buehler, Ferris Buehler...
Just that SimpleFeed back please

My reason for not recommending simple green can be found at the top of page 2 (post #11)

I got burned by the product, and lost a good customer over it. Those two reason are all I need. I'm just trying to help the next fella not make the same mistake

I really can't say for sure as I've never tried it (SG on Foam)

All I know is about 20 years ago I used it to clean an engine and it had a terrible reaction to bare aluminum. The customer was "Super Pissed" so from that day forward I've never used it and will "Never" endorse it

Having said that. Yea, you'll "Probally" be o.k. using it to clean pads :bolt:

Read the quote above and I think you'll have your answer.

had a similar reaction with simple green years ago. my viewpoint is that with all the other reasonably priced effective apc s out there why tempt it? i like one from my buddy in canada ken.

What's the name of the APC? I know who you're talking about and have purchased things from him before as well, like BFWD and the RaceGlaze wheel brush.

Exclusive APC. This stuff works very, very good too.

I've never had any issues with Simple Green at 1:1 or full strength, no staining or anything.

I don't let it dry on the surface, however. The smell leaves a lot to be desired, but I think its like that with most APC's.

(Stumbled upon this thread since I'm looking for a good OTC APC for interior surfaces and carpets, figured I'd throw in my opinion on the Simple Green while I was here)

I have recently discovered Amazing Roll Off, and it is definitely true to its name - Amazing. I don't believe it's OTC, though.

Optimum Power Clean would be my first recommendation and Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner runs a close second...:props:

Buy them by the gallon and dilute so suit your application....:dblthumb2:

That OPC has some of the best reviews I've ever seen, but price of Meg's APC is hard to argue with.

I'll end up making a decision on my next order, or if one goes BOGO :props:

I couldn't agree more. My Meguiar's APC+ is my go-to. I use OPC when APC+ isn't cutting it or when its not safe to use APC+ such as on paint.

Certain Simple Green products are NOT good on bare aluminum because the product is highly alkaline. I have a gallon of Simple Green and still use it without any issues - as long as you follow the directions. Folks always recommend "a little product goes a long way". Guess what folks? Same rule applies with Simple Green. This is documented on their web site @ Frequently Asked Questions

I always use two dilutions for Simple Green. For heavy cleaning 5:1 for light i use 15:1.

I've had good luck following their dilution measurements 30:1 for interior cleaning an leather and 10:1 for real dirty leather(after a camping trip) and real dirty plastic. Only thing I don't like about it is the smell. Might switch over to Meg's APC+.

Love ARO! I buy it by the gallon. OPC is my go to APC though.
