Fantastic thread Mike. :props:

Pretty fair to say that this Roadshow Class was an absolute hit. Something that pleases me is seeing so many of the alumni of the class are forum members, & its great to see & read so many great testimonies. There's no doubt at all that the Roadshow Classes pack in all of the experiences that you would find in the Autogeek Show Car Garage.

Super work documenting the class Mike, some great pictures of everyone getting stuck in & learning & plenty of eye candy with all of the sweet vehicles used for the class. :props:

Outstanding work all round & BIG Props to everyone that made this possible, a first class experience for sure.

Next up... the FLEX Power Tool class for Show Car Detailing

For the FLEX tools, the class will be training on a 1939 Chevy Streetrod and a 1965 Ford Econoline Van.

The van is a survivor from the 60's hippie culture and still has the shag carpet in it from that time period.

Using SONAX Claydiscs and Nanoskin Autoscrub Pads with FLEX Power Tools to mechanically decontaminate the paint on a 1939 Chevy Streetrod at Autogeek's Roadshow Detailing Class in Wisconsin at Lake Country Manufacturing.

This technique also covered in my FLEX how-to book.

After decontaminating the paint using the SONAX Claydiscs and Nanoskin Autoscrub discs, the next step was to remove all the swirls and scratches. For this we're
Removing swirls and scratches using SONAX CutMax with the FLEX 3401 with Lake Country Force Hybrid Orange Foam Cutting Pads.

After the polishing step, next we chemically stripped the paint and for that we used BLACKFIRE Crystal Coat Paint Prep.

After chemically stripping the paint we used SONAX CC36 Ceramic Coating.

This was actually a fairly complicated body style to buff out using a multiple-step approach but the class did an AWESOME job!

Removing overspray paint and other bonded contaminants off the 1965 Ford Econoline Van.

The class is using the FLEX 3401 with Nanoskin Autoscrub Pads and SONAX Claydiscs.

When is the last time you worked on a van from the 1960s?

Mikey was our youngest student in the class

Theses classes are open to anyone, NOT just detailers.

In fact - 60% of the people that take our class are taking it to learn how to work on their own car or their own collection of cars.

.

Just to jog everyone's memory.... here's how the paint looked before the class performed the extreme show car makeover...

I took this picture early Saturday morning as the sun was coming up on the horizon. I had to get down real low to get the sun to light up the paint and reveal the nasty scratches inflicted into the paint on this incredibly cool 1960s van.

HOLOGRAMS from a rotary buffer!
