I am looking to stock up on my detailing supplies to go along with the new polisher I purchased. However I am having a hard time deciding on what product line to go with. I would primarly be working on my daily driver. I am considering the two brands. I have included my shopping list below:

XMT
  • Pinnacle XMT 180 High Gloss Carnauba Paste Wax
  • Pinnacle XMT Swirl Remover Bundle
  • Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze

Pinnacle Natural Brilliance
  • Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Car Wax
  • Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion
  • Pinnacle Swirl Remover Combo

Any suggestions or reviews would be greatly appreciated.

Pinnacle Compound and Polish is great. Just expensive. The compound just finishes so nice.

If you want show car results... go with the Pinnacle Natural Brilliance line of products.

You don't need the Paintwork Cleansing Lotion anytime you're already using dedicated compounds and polishes and it becomes redundant.

Here's the compound live on TV on black paint (and a really expensive car featured in StreetRodder Magazine)

Here's the last few cars we've buffed out here at Autogeek for our Thursday night projects...

The 1956 Chevy went on to take FIRST PLACE PLATINUM at the Eckler's Winter Nationals in January of this year...

So am I safe to assume that the lotion would be similar to a glaze, In that when all the swirls are removed there is nothing to fill in?

I think if you're polishing (removing) paint every year as a routine maintenance program...maybe its time to check out the washing and drying program.

There definitely is a place for chemical, non abrasive polishes like Pinnacle cleansing lotion. Its what I have used twice a year as my fall and spring regiment.

I get the part about using a finishing polish instead...but once the paint is corrected once, you ought not have to keep removing paint routinely.

Someday I hope, the need to remove paint to correct it will be old school. Somebody will come up with a cleaner-coating which cleans like Pinnacle cleansing lotion....then fills in scratches and swirls, levels off perfectly leaving a perfectly smooth surface as if the paint was never damaged...and lasts years. That would be a game changer like no other.

Perfect timing for you as both Pinnacle and XMT products are now on sale at AG!

IMO you can't go wrong with Pinnacle Souveran Paste or wax. I have the paste wax and like it so much I just bought the liquid wax from the sale.

Not to say anything wrong with XMT I would assume it's a great PBMG product, however, I look at Pinnacle as an upgrade product.

I look at it as XMT = Mercedes Benz/Pinnacle = AMG

Before I order the pinnacle line, I want to make sure I can use all the products with my PC 7424 xp.

You can no problem. Pinnacle is great stuff!! I just finished working on a 2014 Mercedes Benz 350 that needed a full correction. The LSP was Pinnacle Liquid Souveran wax.

Great stuff. They also have their own website. Pinnacle can be used with a DA or hand. No worries with that

Here is a mustang I waxed with the XMT Paste wax.

Nice pics of the Benz and Mustang...wow! Call me crazy but I've owned black vehicles for 20+ years. When it's done right, that black paint pops! I enjoy getting behind the wheel every day for a short commute to work, even in my dd with 100K+ miles.

So glad I went with Natural brilliance after Xmt is no longer in use after reading this thread.

Yes, but some of the old XMT things are still around, and have now been relabeled as McKee's 37 products!
