This is what i was hoping for out of the Opti-Bond. After two coats I achieved a similar finish. How many coats did you apply here?

Re: pinnacle black onyx tire gel or wolfgang black diamond tire gel

one and that picture was taken a day later.

I'm wanting to try Pinnacle, Wolfgang, and DP. Although, after using Opti bond it's going to be tough!

Your tire looks great Louie, the Wolfgang gel is my wheel well dressing for my vette since I do not care for it on my tires.

Thanks Dana! All I need now are some different rims.

Re: pinnacle black onyx tire gel or wolfgang black diamond tire gel

Come on baby; Louie needs a new pair of shoes...:D
Every time I start looking for rims, something in the house breaks(washer, dishwasher, stove). I've spent $5k on appliances in the lsat 3 months. Now a baby any day now. Daddy will never get a new pair of shoes:(

I hear ya man. As the baby gets older it only gets worse:eek:

This is the Pinnacle Black Onyx tire gel.

This application is actually a few days old as it was applied on Saturday, and it's now Tuesday.

If I get a chance to wash one of our other cars within the next week, I'll take a photo of it freshly applied (although it still looks the same) and a before and after (cleaning with Megs APC and then undressed/ dressed shot).

Nice Matt, but with Opti Bond, you can cut it and use it for your wheel wells, which BTW needs some attention.

Great to know because I tried the Black Onyx on them once, but it didn't do the trick. I used to use the Meguiar's Nxt Gen aerosol tire spray but this was quite expensive and messy for the wheel wells so I just stopped dressing them.

I'm gonna include some Opti Bond in my next order so I'll take your advice and use that on the wheel wells. So you say you can cut it with water? What ratio do you use? 1:1? I think that's what I've read before.

EDIT: You got me thinking so I went downstairs to see what else I had that I could use to dress them with and found an aerosol can of Silicone Star with a fan type spray nozzle. I decided to try this on the rear left wheel well and it went on cleanly (that sharp fan spray really helped for accuracy) and now they look awesome again! The coolest thing is that it only costs $1.99 per can from my local BP Gas station (well it did when I bought it a few months ago). Next time I do the LS600hL I might jack it up so I can get into the tight wheel wells as those are a PITA to access!

Thanks Ron, I'm mighty obliged!

Your welcome Matt, but honestly speaking I like CG Bare Bones better for wheel wells. If you going to the trouble of jacking the car you may as well remove the tires and really get those wheel wells clean. Now you can clean and seal the back side of the wheels too.

I'll have to source some CG Bare Bones (I hope they ship internationally) as I've heard some good things about it for under carriage applications- only problem is that I've read dust and dirt stick to it badly, have you also found that to be the case?

As for the jacking, I have a hydraulic garage floor jack, so it takes less than a minute to jack the car and have greater (not full) access to the wheel wells. I usually remove the wheels and clay/ seal the insides of them every 4-5 months, seeing as Collinite 845 is so durable that's all that's needed. Next time I remove the wheels, I'll also try cleaning the suspension components as I've never really bothered to do them before (I'll use the Bare Bones to dress them).

Thanks,
Matt.
