Pinnacle Souveran vs. P21S

@Rob T - Its just 5 layers of NXT2.0! :)

@bimmer325 - I agree! My car is worth everything to me! And I want to love and pamper her with the best wax suitable for this paint type! :D

Some more pics -

This pic is of NXT topped with collinite845!(reflection shot)

but it still shows the 'not so deep' shine of a sealant!(I want something deeper, wetter and glossier!!) :hungry:

btw here are pics of my friend's Honda

As you can see, paint is in excellent condition and he uses Klasse AIO topped with Blackfire all finish paint protection.

He also needs a beauty wax(liquid souveran or some paste wax suitable for his paint) that will make his paint look wet and deep along with that 'metallic flake popping' etc. with at least 2-3 week durability Feed back please

You're wasting your time layering NXT2.0 as it contains cleaners. You're just removing what you've previously put down.

Personally I love P21S100 and it is all I use. No sealant either, just multiple layers of P21S.

I'm not sure if that is accurate. Mike Pennington of Meguiar's has assured the MOL brethren that the second coat of NXT does not remove the previously applied first coat, particularly if it's been given 12 hours to cure. Meguiar's does not, however, recommend more than two coats of any of their protectants.

I don't know what to do with the laying claims of various manufacturers. In the absence of actual scientific testing, how does one know one way or the other?

WHOA!!!

Damn that is the nicest metallic blue paint I've ever seen!!!
The metallic flakes appear so prominent!

This is exactly the type of shine I'm looking for my paint!:props:

Can you share some info about the steps before the souveran, like polish that was used to bring the paint to this level of high gloss ,sealant etc.

I just put down one layer . . . . Maybe I should have done more! :

Maybe 8 coats would be better than 4. Give yourself a break. There is such a thing as diminishing returns. Sometimes you can do too much.

Concerning layering, I've always taken my non-scientific and non-expert approach: I apply one or two layers of whatever I'm using every weekend I detail my vehicle, which is every weekend I can.

Why do I do this? Because I can and I enjoy it. Is it overkill? I would be willing to bet it is. Does it serve a better purpose in protecting the car? I doubt it (see overkill).

If the only reason I detailed and took care of my car was because I wanted to protect it from the elements, then I would do so less often. Some day, when I'm older than I am now, that will likely be the best I can do. But until that day, I've always enjoyed overkill. :)

Lol! same here!

Before I knew about the law of diminishing returns, I layered NXT2.0 like, 10 times(giving 24hrs for each layer to cure) and then kept at it and lost count! :o

Now I'd like to apply 2-3 layers of a sealant and then a beauty wax and keep layering the beauty wax every week or so!

Here is my simple rule and it applies to EVERYTHING in life (not just wax)...it is not an issue of how much it cost..it is how much is it worth to YOU!. Bottom line is if you want better than average waxes you will have to pay the extra for that. Most waxes that charge more do more either in shine or protection.

Sorry to disagree with you. Pay for what you get is a fairy tale more times that not. Read consumers report. Yes, a Bentley is
is better than a Ford. There are many. many items that over priced and do not stand up to real comparison. What they have is great hype and marketing. We pay for both.

That said, based on this thread, choice of wax ( and polishes) is a very subjective and personal thing. Everyone has his own opinion and is rightly entitled to it. There is not really cut answer to the SP21 vs Pinnacle issue.

Excellent reasoning. I can buy that.

Enjoy yourself.

Thanks!!!

The car was polished using M105/205 with my Flex and CCS pads but that was some time before applying the Souveran.

Anyway, I gave it the full Pinnacle treatment.

Washed with Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo Car Wash

Clayed with Pinnacle’s Ultra Poly Clay and Pinnacle Clay Lubricant

Applied Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion by hand

Finally I applied the Pinnacle Souveran Paste Carnauba Wax by hand

Before the pictures were taken I used Pinnacle Crystal Mist Detail Spray for the final wipe down.

I use both. I believe the paste is able to have a higher content of carnauba. They both look great so I usually put down a layer of Souveran paste, then top with Liquid Souveran (although lately I've fell in love with Dodo's Orange Crush as a "topper"). You'll be very happy with the liquid Souveran but I would compare it to the ol' Paste Glaz or XMT line. :props:

Easy on easy off but I don't think it has the same look as the paste. Don't get me wrong it still looks great just not the same pop.

Liquid Souveran

i strickly use paste waxes. not sure why but i feel a paste carnuaba is the only way to go. for me .liquid souveran is great to ..i used to use it..

I don't know why either, but I too prefer paste waxes. I of course am happy to apply my Blackfire Wet Diamond or UPGP in liquid form; but when I want a carnauba I always pick up a tub of paste wax. It feels like waxing. Don't know how to explain it.
