Let me start off by saying it has been a while since my last update and I do apologize for my absence.

When Atish brought me his Polo GTi on Saturday morning , it was exactly what I had expected to see after having non-stop rain for 2 weeks. The exterior was in a poor state thanx to the constant wet roads up here in Gauteng.

I started off with the interior. It was pretty clean for a daily driver , and after an hour of cleaning I was happy with the outcome.
While waiting for the engine to cool down before I hose it , I remember Atish asking me to clean the wheel barrels for him properly. I called him up to ask him if I can remove all the wheels from the car to clean them and he agreed. I spent around 3 hours cleaning the wheel barrels and mud filled arches.

I then cleaned the engine bay up and gave the car a wash to prepare it for the claying process. While washing I noticed the sides was quite badly contaminated. Must have been something that made contact with the paint while driving on wet roads. After the wash and dry I sprayed the car with IronX to loosen all the contamination from the paint. I clayed the till 16h30 before I called it a day.

Sunday morning I gave the car a quick wash and dry to ensure that I remove the dust that may have settled overnight. I then clayed the remaining 3 panels before I got out my Polisher. I corrected the paint using Menzerna FG400 , followed by Menzerna PF2500. Around mid day I applied my wax , Menzerna PowerLock to seal the paint from future contamination.

Before Atish arrived , I did my final wipe down , dressed all the plastic trims and vacuumed the car one last time.

Onto the pics .....

Looks great. I always spray down with IronX before claying.
