Poor Shmitty

No I still have the bunnies and the owner of them actually contacted me about what happend. He said I was more then welcome to save any pics I wanted and use my own site to host them. Apparently a crap load of myspace users were feeding of of him and that's why he was mad and did what he did.

Happened to me to, except I think theres something in AG html coding that's not agreeing with something lol, I posted a gif file and same thing happened. Weird part is I used a site that I've always used for linking, I even checked some old post on some auto forums and my linked pics are still there with no nasty type pics in their place. Really weird?

Instead of a cat, get a bobcat:D to protect your #16.;)

My Schmitt was staying clean by a hose rinse. That is until I used it with DP 4 in 1 as a rinseless wash. Then the Schmitt got stained. I have not washed it in the washer. Any recommendations on cleaning it?

I am sending PM in reference to your Shmitt!

That happened to me too. I tried washing it in the washing machine, but it didn't remove the staining. However, I've used it a few times since then and the staining doesn't affect the performance of the ShMitt.

I just recently got my ShMitts and I have not washed them in the washing machine. Does anyone really know what the recommend care instructions are?

Good question Gary. I'm interested in care instuctions too. Maybe something similar to what we use with our PC pads, but I'm going to wait to try it.

Hi Guys,
Just to add some insight. Seems like the dryer may have caused this. Each dryer is different and based on time, heat, gas or electric, and what other items you wash and dry with used to affect the adhesive that bonds the two foams together. Maybe some of you remember about 2 months ago a customer left their ShMiTTs outside on a metal plate in the sun which can get realy hot, (ever feel your hood on a hot summer day in the sun?) Because of this, which truthfully we were not expecting since normal use is in cold water or maybe just warm water, we upgraded the adhesive to the same one we use on our PC DA pads which can take about 400F!! We made that change about a month ago and all ShMiTTs since then have the new glue. Most of you will never have a problem even with the old ones, but know they are super duper strong now and if you want to machine wash them, just go ahead no problems! You don't really need to though because they rinse so clean by hand you could just save the electric, gas, and wear and tear on your machines by just spraying out with the hose when you are done, and letting drip dry. They will dry themselves that way in about 12 hours.
Also want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all our ShMiTT supporters for making the product such a GREAT SUCCESS!! Please continue to spread the word!! We really need all the help we can because so many people are scared about a new washing tool, but its really the BEST!!
Finally, Excessive Detail,

If Autogeek does not replace that ShMiTT contact us directly and I will take care of it. We will totally stand behind all our products!

Best regards,

Thanks for the update Aaron! It's great to see a manufacturer be so confident about their products, it's the reason I just bought two of them last week. Sounds like I have the new glue, which is great news!

I washed 3 of our vehicles today, all three were dirty as their doing construction on a section around the intracoastal here and I have to drive through it everyday. Washed all three and even though the Shmitt would turn dirty colored, quick spray of the hose and dunk i nthe bucket and it looked like new, I didn't find a piece of grit in the mitt on the white or yellow side after all 3 vehicles:awesome:.

It's awesome... it really transformed on the way I wash cars. Plus, you really have to love how Aaron at Edge back their product. The research that went into this product was "out of the box" thinking. It's an interesting story on how it went from product development to general production. I like the way the people at Edge think.

My order just arrived today and in it was the white/yellow shmitt and black shmitt. Can't wait for the weather to improve so I can use them. Mike...

You don't have a ShMiTT yet?
Right before the ShMitt came out I bought a few other mitts and am waiting for them to wear out. I spent WAY too much money in '06 on unnecessary stuff and made a resolution to be a little smarter with my (our) money in '07. I'm gonna get some ShMitts, but when I need them;) I asked for them for Christmas but I guess I wasn't good last year:rolleyes::D Also, I did pull the trigger on the ShMitt combo, but they were out of stock so I decided that was a sign for me to wait.:p

I personally bought the all white ShMITT and just put two in my basket, cannot wait for the good weather to return so I can try them!

Should have known better!
Washed a load of Cobra MFs this weekend for the first time using HOT water with MF Rejuvenator and the blue balls in the dryer. As an afterthought threw in 4" and 6" orange LC pads that had OC stains in them.
Everything came out exceptionally clean and extremely fluffy except I now have the only purple.. er. indigo .. LC pads around. It seems I forgot that a couple the indigo MFs were brand new. Only the pads absorbed the bleeding, even the white MF I have is still white.
I really should know better as I have a number of pink terrys from when a red shop rag got included in one of their washes last summer.

thats why i never wash my micro's with anything else. i got a huge box of micros so once i start getting low, i kno wits time to wash( usually once a month or so!
