Porsche 912 cut and buff

This beautiful little specimen fell in my lap with a dire need of a clearcoat cut and buff .. The car had received a paint job sometime in the past (not too sure how long ) between 3 to six years id say .. As the saying goes " you get what you pay for " hence no further explanation needed ... BAD ORANGE PEEL .. it was so bad that you could barely see any reflection in the finish ..

So i sanded it with Meguiar's Unigrit Finishing Sand Paper 1000 grit then 2000 grit and compounded and polished to the beautiful Tangerine shine that it deserved ...

The client was so impressed that he couldn't believe it looked like it did , he told me that a friend said to him that it would need a respray and it would be a waste of time and money having it buffed ...Happy to say that i saved him 10 k .. : )
here are some pics..

its hard to see but i think you get the jist

Way too bring the gloss back to that classic Marius!! Looked like it had some nice holograms, swirls, and more. But you brought it back nicely.

Wow that paint was dead. You did that little Porsche a great service.

Wow you went up to the very edges and buffed out 2000. What machine or machines did you use compound and polishes?

Either way great work! Some really high end detailing right there.

Awesome work Marius and great pictures to tell the story.

You have the dream job most guys would love to have working for Wayne Carini at his shop.

Really glad you've joined our forum and share your work. I know if I worked there I'd do the same.

Thank you Mike , it is pretty cool to work at a place like this there's never a dull moment around here ..whats really cool is being able to to do this kinda work for yourself outside your day job...like this job ...:props:

Nicely done Marius! Thanks for sharing. Car looks awesome!!

Outstanding save .Looks like a fresh spray job . LOL.

Was the re-spray BC/CC?

What paint thickness readings were you seeing?

What PTG do you guys use at F40 Motorsports?

Very impressed that you hand sanded it. How do you decide what gets machine sanded and what gets done by hand?

You did a great job there, you've got some real skill there for sure! Nice to bring a true classic back from the dead too!!

How about the other cars in the shop, classic Fiat 500 and a Challenge 355, NICE!
