Quick question,

I have a set needing cleaned, is it ok to machine polish the aluminum? Can I also polish the black or is it supposedto be a matt colour?

Thanks.

Depending on the car they are going on. I have seen original Fuchs both polished (shiny) and matte (not shiny). The black section is painted and I would go ahead and lightly polish it to bring back some of the luster.

Post up some pics of your wheels before and after! (and the car that they go on!)

Regards,
Scott

I didn't have the balls to polish them, I just went with the old faithfull - gyeon cancoat. They came up OK as well.

Going to finish coating it tomorrow, would you believe the owner has had this from new and it has only just turned 25,000 miles. Oh to have those problems.

Perfect! That's how they should look on that 930. Nicely done...without being 'over done'.

And if those are wheel weights on the outer lips, whomever installed them/balanced the wheels needs to be hung from their thumbs!! LOL

And in the top pic you can see there's still the foam tape from a weight that was removed. I use 3M adhesive remover and a plastic putty knife if needed. Carefully. It may take several applications to get it all off.

That is just the weight corroded in the top picture
