Man, you must live in a bad neighborhood.

Glock 23 gen 3 gold dot hollow points 2 mags also don't carry but 32 round extended mag

Yes.

Have you ever thought that crime could be so high because everyone is an easy target for the criminals? Do the criminals have guns, even though it is illegal? Well, then they ALWAYS have the upper hand over any true law abiding citizen, and they know it.

A little light reading: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Look at the crime rates, etc.) Switzerland is one of the safest countries in the world as far as crime goes, yet they are arguably one of the most heavily armed. How does that work?

If the citizens of Brazil were properly trained and practiced with armament, then they would take the fight to the criminals.

Here's another "case study" from my state:
Gun Ownership - It's The Law In Kennesaw

LOL @ the second picture posted of a gun in front of a laptop with the screen on L2D chat!

DLB

Hi DLB... sorry for the long text but I guess it's worth reading... I'm not talking against weapons, just explaining our reality in Brazil.

A few years back in 2003 or 2004 there was a referendum here and most of the population voted against free weapons.... when I was a child back in the 80's and early 90's they were sold everywhere and legislation slowly got tighter...
I would have personally voted in favor of weapon at that time, but changed my mind since them....

You have to consider that every nation is different, that's why we have so many wars, because we always fail to respect our differences... hell we see even brothers killing brothers....

Switzerland has one of the best living standard in the world... they are a very educated and rich society.... it's very above avarge from most countries... and it's also important to realize that they don't carry a huge military force both for population size and economics and all citizen there receive military training and most are considered military through their life although they will have a regular job not in the force... and that's why they can have heavy weapons.

If you take Brazil in the other hand... we're a very rich country, both discovered and to be discovered richness..... BUT we have one of the worst distribution of incoming in the world.... most of the population leaves with low education standard, health care, transportation and so on..... if it wasn't enough to be low paid, we work 40% of the year only to pay taxes (and it keeps raising).
So what do we have ? An uneducated population, economic oppressed. A weapon in the hand of a population like that would make it fell powerful, respectful. And a lot of people would use their guns to have their respect because they can't get it other way...
You know, when we get angry we can do crazy stuff that we wouldn't do normally...
Brazil has a very high homicide rate already, it's so high that more people get killed here than in a war, I think we even kill every year more people than Iraq war at it's top.
A news from yesterday stated "Brazil's homicide rate more than doubled in 30 years".
Another statistic from the same study: From 2004 to 2007 165.5 thousand people were killed in all wars around the globe.... in Brazil in the same period of time 192.8 thousand people were killed.
This is without guns, can you imagine us with guns ?

Very nice collection Jim! :props:

For those 45 and 40 shooters, I recommend the Winchester Ranger (formerly Black Talon) and Federal HST ammunition. This stuff expands perfectly every time, even with peripheral hits.

Should also look into Corbon/Glasers lineup, they offer Pow'RBall for semi-auto guns (little nylon ball in the hollow point to make sure it feeds properly and just about guarantees expansion) if you have ever had a problem with a hollow point catching the feed ramp. They also make an all copper hollow point that is very reliable and expands nicely in their DPX line.

I can certainly understand and respect your commentary here.

There are without question mass numbers of the population (even here in the US) that I feel should never have possession of a firearm - there are several in my family! I also think however that the citizens who are suited for firearm ownership and use should practice their rights (here in the US) by owning and carrying them (where legal).

I don't know what the model would look like for every country individually (it would be different), but with the correct model set in place, I think you would see an overall decline in crime, not an increase.

However, to blindly let every Brazilian have a gun, yes, I can TOTALLY empathize with your points. :dblthumb2:

Agreed. I mean... Personally, I'd love to have my hands on some cool "toys" you guys can there... But I wouldn't go out on the streets with it anyway.... Even my brother that is an airforce pilot can't carry a gun on the street....
But I just don't believe Brazil has the capacity to control weapons sales and use by the population.... hell we can't even control things much simpler than that... that's why I think it's better the way it's now...

Your last 2 posts were a very enlightening look into your country. That is a scary situation!

Yes indeed... this study even got me surprised.... I knew it was bad but I wouldn't thought it was that much.... :o

My Benchmade self-defense knife and depending which vehicle i drive, i have a kubaton on hand.

My S&W hammerless .357 snub nose revolver goes every where with me and stays in my vehicle most of the time, if not, it's in my waistband then.

100_0840.jpg

When i go "out on the town" my Glock is always on my side.

100_0845.jpg

Old trusty Win. shotty is always behind the seat in the truck.

100_0849.jpg

My "bad weather" duck gun, Benelli Super Nova... Always loaded and beside my bed.

100_0855.jpg

My "go-to" duck and goose gun, Beretta Xtrema 2.

100_0847.jpg

Since the Castle Doctrine has been signed in PA, i now keep my Rem. 30-06 loaded in the closet... Just in-case you need to "reach out" and touch an intruder... Notice the ballistic tips?

Do i believe we should have the right to "open carry"? Yes.

Do i "Open carry"? Never, i always conceal carry.

I thought a kubaton was something you used on the grill for shish ka bobs. ;)

Is having those on your key rings any good for extra Fuelperks?

I could never figure out why anyone would want to forewarn someone that might bear them ill will so they could prepare accordingly. I'd rather have a bad guy approach me head on so I can deal with it than have them sneak up behind me with a tap to the gourd with a Louisville Slugger if they know I'm armed.

TL <--- nobody will ever know what I may or may not have tucked in a waistband. Or in a shoulder rig, an ankle holster, the glove compartment and the console. :D

Exactly TL... i don't want anyone to know i am armed, unless i need to "show" them i am...

LOL.. i was turned onto the kubaton while taking some Krav maga lessons here in Pittsburgh...

Here is a good intro video which shows how this tool is used.

Here is another video at full speed.

It is very easy to inflict pain and break bones with a kubaton.

And yes, the Get-Go and Sheetz cards do save me money on gas and food. :)

Wow Tadman!! Those elk don't stand a chance!

 LMAO Corey! Here's a picture of my real elk rifle (Winchester 300 Ultra Mag)...
