I like the cleaning ability and the neutral finish it leaves
I stumbled across it after being underwhelmed by other products. That includes APC's, heavy duty tyre cleaners and another brands floor mat cleaner. What I really like about it is how the product lathers up so nicely while scrubbing. I'll also say having the right brush is just as important. For example, a flag tipped brush is virtually useless, they are too soft. I also find most of the tyre cleaning brushes (inc the Tuff Shine) are just too stiff. The goldilocks brush seems to be a medium stiffness tyre brush, in particular the DF tyre brush. Combine both and its floor mat cleaning perfection.

Sometimes APCs like Simple Green, Super Power, etc seem to leach the natural lubricants out of mats and stuff and leave them dried out and you need a second product to make them look good again
I'd say it depends on the material. Some are very much rubber, which like any rubber product, they can be discoloured by using high-alkaline chemicals. Some are more of a flexible plastic and are pretty resilient to cleaning chemicals.
Same thing applies to tyres. You will note how some tyres never really turn brown when exposed to a tyre cleaner, while others will continue to bleed brown after repeated rounds. For tyres that continue to turn brown after repeated cycles of scrubbing and rinsing, this is due to the UV inhibitors being drawn to surface over and over again. If a tyre is inclined to do this, then it doesn't matter what cleaning product or brush you use, or the number of rounds, it will continue to do so until you've depleted the tyre of this compound and speed up the decay of the rubber itself. This is why I say not to bother with the whole "keep scrubbing and rinsing until the chemical stops turning brown" thing, it a waste of time, money and effort. One to two rounds is sufficient, three if you feel the need.
