PRE-ORDER: Rupes LHR 12E Duetto & LHR 75E Mini Polishers!

I usually don't have a problem...but then again (for fear a starting another argument, ahem, discussion) I use 7" pads on the PC and although the rotation is not "speedy"...just as much correction, IMO, comes from the dual action.

On a typical vehicle, I haven't had an issue not getting in many spaces at all, just my opinion. If it's "that" tight, I can do it by hand.

Not trying to argue with ya...just my experience.
 
How about as an alternative to one of these kits: 3 GG 6 DAs, one with a 3" backing plate, one 4" and one 5"--all for about $475 (before any special deals that are already out there)

NP, but have you ever detailed a Nissan Xterra? On the roof alone their are 5 channels that you can't get a 5.5" pad into and four 1" bumps that run the entire length of the roof. My PC bogged down big time with 4" pads and I have the black line on the bp to see when it stops spinning. The side of the vehicle have major indents and you can just get the 5'5" pad in them.


 
Not for anything but I really doubt the machine by itself will be any less than 200, I'm guessing between 250-300 for the mini and the duetto probably 50 dollars over whatever the mini sells for.

Oooh yeah, she got a bunch of smaller panels for ya:xyxthumbs:I usually run a PC on speed 4 with 3" and 4" pads...on speed 6, you couldn't stop that thing if I put all my body weight on it, but I'm not comfortable at the speed with small pads. What speed do you normally run with the 3" pads?

7" (6 3/4") pads, all I look for is a nice slow rotation of the black line....it corrects fine in <my> experience. Like I've said, the rotation is one thing, OPM's are another.

You are a witty man Bob...that's for sure. I'm excited...my wallet and CFO, the wife, say hell to the no....2 PC's, Rupes 21, Flex rotary and 3401 already in the stables....
 
I have to agree with everyone else. It took me a long time to pull the trigger on buying my 3401. No way I would spend that kind of money on a 3" polisher.

You can buy a LHR 15 for $349.00, so $350.00 for a Duetto?

Ill be passing on this as well. I was full ready to expect a $250 machine but $450 for a kit! Really?

I understand that Rupes maybe to blame for this but Ill just wait this on out. No way I'm going to shell out $450 for a 3" polisher.

I may like my machines but certainly not at that price point.
 
Very poor business decision by Rupes to hold back on offering the machines individually outside of a kit. I understand they are most likely trying to recover as much of their investment as possible on these by offering a low-margin machine with a bunch of high-margin accessories, but by doing so they are driving away the customers who are ready to buy the machine only now. Not only is the price point for the kits out of line, I wouldn't expect the price of the machines only to be reasonable either at this point.

I was ready, willing, and able to order both machines immediately, but with a move like this, I'm not sure I'm interested at all anymore or ever will be again. This is a classic case of a company failing to capture sales based on the hype they generated by releasing the machine at SEMA. When I see these sort of errors in judgement, it is very hard for me to convince myself that this is a company that I want to give my business.
 
I wonder if there's a way to have the total price reduced, (when purchasing both kits at once).
For example: I don't need two aprons, 2 bags, two sets of liquids, etc.

Sooner or later I would need all of the pads...
I can understand their costs being as part of the kits.

There is, after all, already a Rupes Big Foot Random Orbital Club Kit available.
Instead of "choose your own Pads"...
make it a "choose these two 12mm polishers"!

Just a-pondering.

Sir I have to agree with you, that is EXACTLY how I feel about rupes right now. I couldn't have word it better myself.
