Is a pressure washer safe to use on vehicles that have fresh coat of wax/sealant. I'm talking an electric one say about 1700 psi, and keeping 8 to 12 inches away. Just thought this might help washing without useing hand to make swearls. Thanks guys still learning here

What do you mean by a 'fresh' coat of wax or sealant. Like as in you've just applied it and now want to wash.... that I wouldn't so because generally sealants require a 12 hour window after they have been applied in order for them to properly 'cure/bond to the paint' during which they should not be exposed to water.

Thereafter though, I see no reason why adding a 1700psi pressure washer into your car washing routine would be problematic - many, many users make use of a pressure washer and I don't recall any mentioning they have 'blasted their LSP off with a pressure washer'.

Lastly, to my mind, a pressure washer will not replace a hand wash, instead it will aid the hand wash by first removing some of the dirt on the car before you make any contact with the paint, thereby reducing the potential for swirls.

Thank you sir, yes I meant to say before next wash. Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't do any damage to the klass twins I just applied. My Lord what a long day that was. Thanks again

:iagree:

Pressure washers I feel are not able to remove lsps other than improperly cured coatings. Alot of people also will hose off all the crap and then wash 2 bucket. I have seen some also use a foam gun and wash mitt combined as they shoot the foam in front of the mitt to reduce swirling
