Prima Hydro MAX

I should receive HM on Friday!!!! :dblthumb2:

I was hyped about GTechniq C2V3 because of it's supposed ease of application and durability, but, was disappointed when I got noticeable smearing on black paint. No matter how many fresh towels I used, the smearing wouldn't go away. Hopefully, HM doesn't streak or smear.

I'm a HUGE fan of Spray & Wipe standalone LSP's. Much faster than applying LSP's by machine and much, much faster than applying by hand.

got mine yesterday! :xyxthumbs: looking forward to a weekend application.

Hydro MAX has a few tweeks over the home blend. Basically little touches to eliminate streaking and so on. It's close enough that if you are mixing your own, you may not notice a major difference.

We frequently discuss a NR. I think it is something we are going to pursue. However, my next product is an interior cleaner with UV protection and no finish. It will clean all interior surfaces including textile. It has an oxygenated surfactant as an odor eliminator. As soon as I can come up with a name, it goes in the bottle.

how do you mix both hydro wax and hydro seal together?i have both but this is the first i heard of people mixing.

thanks pat,do you notice any streaking with that mixture at all?

I didn't have streaking issues. I wonder if it didn't mix correctly. Something happened and it started to come out of the spray bottle really thick...

Anyone have photos of what the streaking looks like (is it big opaque white streaks or fine clear streaks or what exactly)? Is it a surface preparation issue (something left on the paint that doesn't agree with the mixture) or a mix ratio issue or what? (I thought Nick recommended mixing 2 parts hydro to 1 part HS)
And when these streaks appear, just wiping them again again doesn't get rid of them?

Can't wait for a Prima NR. Got home the other day and had a few min. I used Wolfs NR then Hydro/Hydro seal mix car looked simply awesome for 20 min worth of time.
With Hydro why IMO its the best spray wax/sealant it never ever streaks for me and always applies perfectly. Covers slight marring too.

Yes, it is 2 parts Hydro and 1 part Hydro Seal, but it is way better to error on the side of more spray Hydro. If it got lumpy, I suspect there was a forgotten shake. This mix separates rapidly, so if you set it down, shake it up again before you spray. Streaks tend to be fine, clear streaks. Say you just washed a car with tinted windows. You dry the glass, but not so well. The light imperfections one might see are similar.

The product does not like to dry on the paint. If it does, you might see some streaking. Simply spritz again and wipe. A saturated towel will also contribute to streaking. A little goes a long way. If your towel is pretty damp when you are working towards the last panel, you are using too much. It's fine as long as you are happy with the results. You should target a full car with one ounce.

Any impressions?
LOVE IT thus far! So easy to apply! I kind of swipe the sprayer across the panel as I'm spraying; it lays a nice even coat. Then, just spread and buff. A little goes a long way! Buffs away very easily! Leaves a high gloss, slick shine! So fast and efficient! If I can get 4 months out of this on a daily driver, anything extra time would be icing on the cake.

I have not tried it on black to determine if there's streaking or smearing. If it passes this test, and is durable as claimed, I'll throw out the rest of my LSP's! :D
