My new friend Nissim (some of you remember him from previous Mercedes S 500 AMG detailing story) & his 2015 Porsche Panamera comes in for a detailing worx.

Little bit about paint condition, the gloss level was very average (shame for a car wash & detailing spot in the heart of Tel Aviv, they use Swiss Made products from one very well known car care company & many detailers who use this products are very proud of it. I don't mention the name but you already know who it is. This Porsche with only 7500 km on the speedometer is often hand washed there, but there was 0 water beading, wheels were very dirty, I was not impressed at all about that place, I could buy that company products but somehow my heart told me this is crap, don't touch it. Now I see I was right.
Also there were some very fine cobweb scratches & paint finish was rough to the touch.
Porsche paint is very prone to scratches, holograms, swirls in general, but when it comes to depth of colours & shine Porsche of course is on the top.

Process starts ( & never stops)

Dirty wheels & very dry tyres

In the meantime good car care supplies arrive

Nissim is a very special person, each time we spoke on the phone & in person he had some joke to say, when I started 9.30AM I told him that not before 3-4PM he will get his Porsche, then comes 4 I say about 5-6, 5 I call, say you can arrive, he says 15-30 min. max, then in 15min. he calls, says, Mark I'll be around about half hour late closer to 6, but don't worry child, I got a tip for you because of that I am late. :whs:

I say: Nissim, I don't accept tips leave it to a nice looking bartender or a waitress :hungry:, my best tip is to see you happy. He was surprised, didn't know what to respond.
So he arrives, looks at the car & gets the wallet out of his jeans pocket, I say not now let's go to make outside pics, he says no, money comes first so I don't forget about it later :laughing: & transfers some of that cash to me, I pocket it to my pocket, he says count please what if I made a mistake, I say I never count the money I just confiscate it :laughing: & yest he gives me TIP by the power of giving...
Regarding customer for life I don't know what tomorrow brings & never think about it in this way, also I never detail the same car twice, my people ask me when to polish & wax it again, I say: Never (it's true because people I work with change cars very often), now all you need is a good Wash&Wax shampoo, interior stuff, wheels cleaner small things & it will look always nice, besides I give such gifts for free away, such car care baskets full of such stuff to take a proper care, my people know is that Sharkpolitur guarantee is a lifetime...many things are going on when we speak about it.
Also I don't do a car washes on the cars I work later (exception is that if I detail their other car & if there is time I can wash their other car standing by I detailed before, but I never have time & I am tired after 1 car anyway :laughing even if all ask for it, because it's boring.

The dinner was superb, there were much more drinks & small Mediterranean salads, fried fish is called here Barbunia that lives in the Sea near the shore & shrimps are called crystal also from the local shores.

I use cash only as a currency, cards are just for fun.

The dinner was special.

I never quite understand what goes on in your threads...so you're detailing a car, decide to pose for a picture on a counter-terror cop's bike, and he arrests you? And then you had dinner with a Siberian Princess...who wasn't related to either?

I only use detailing products that I have a feeling for it, for me it's like buying red Napa or Barollo red, I look at the bottles, glass quality, paper label quality & picture on it & YES, this is what I want because in the same second bottle speaks to me: take me, you'll not be sorry.
Most of the time I am right about buying wines, same is about car care products.
I take some polish, wax, clay bar, shampoo, sealant etc. in my hand without going into details or reading what it is, I say to myself: I believe it, it must be good & it is good in the end.
Then later I can go to their website & read more about it, but first impression is the most important.

And yes, cars here are damn expensive, multiply price in Germany, USA or England by X2.2 this is the price in Israel.

Well, that cleared things up.

I didn't like Porsche looks before, especially Carrera it reminds me Beetle only pressed with a heavy metal press, not to mention Cayman & Boxter models which are the joke...but looking closer at Panamera I decided this is a nice car actually & it cost in Israel from 200,000 Euros.
Also people who own a Porsche in Israel (same is in Germany) think that they own something the best which is rather true if we speak about higher priced models, but Boxter & Cayman same as Cayenne & now Macan guys & girls rather do it to show off I have a Porsche :wow:
Very wealthy people here prefer Mercedes & BMW top models, same as Jaguar XJ, Lexus LS & Porsche top models, Maserati & Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Bentley owners are very nice too but I haven't met them yet too close, so time will show.
Also Porsche owners I know if compared to Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Jaguar take much more care about car's look probably because it cost them a lot of their net worth, but owners of above mentioned cars don't care so much about looks, they just enjoy comfort & luxury of daily driving, also confirmed that people owning such cars are much more wealthy than pure Porsche owners, the only exception is people who own many such top cars at once, this is completely different kind of people & their wealth can't be measured by the car they own.

Regarding detailing income, all who own such cars are ready to pay a lot for it same as classic cars enthusiasts, the most greedy category is the people who buy top cars used with high kilometers on it, for them such car is all life's dream & they think detailing it must cost same as a car wash plus tip :laughing: this kind of people I am not working with, to them I say: your car looks like new.
Also owners of sporty Mustangs, Corvettes, Dodge & other new American muscle cars are very greedy, it's pure show off on the street, they probably don't know from what materials their cars interior & exterior is made of, cheaper than new Nissan, Toyota, Honda.
Resume, so this is my detailing observations I made till today seeing different cars & people, the more expensive the car the better are the people at least concerning the ones I work with.
Interesting how it looks in USA, maybe you know?
