So I placed an order last week for the Optimum Compound 2, Polish 2 and Finishing Polish, but there seems to be an issue..

The issue is with all three products, but we will start with one.

After Opening the Box from AG....

Compound 2 is suppose to be white, at least that was what my last bottle of Compound 2 looks like. It is like a Gold Color Now???? The compound 2 that came in the box was gold.

Polish 2 looks as if something watered it down heavily. The viscosity is real thin and extremely watery, which is not how my other Polish 2 is like.

Finishing Polish looks chunky and grainy, as well as is a different shade of blue then my last Finishing Polish by optimum.

What's up with this???? I have never had an issue with them before.....anyone else have the same issue from the BOGO???

I'm going to pick up my bogo items this Sat in Buffalo so this is a good reference for me as I've never used these items before.

Hope everything is alright

Yes, Please note this when you open your package.

Give autogeek a call.

Already did, I know they will solve the issue without a problem, but I wanted to see if anyone else received the same defective products?

The Optimum polishes on BOGO are the original formula, as the description states on the BOGO page for each Optimum product.

(ie:Original Optimum Compound II 8 oz)

Shake them well, they should be fine. If you notice any problems with the performance of the polishes, our phones are on six days a week, it's as simple as giving us a phone call. :props:

Nick, as far as the watered down Polish 2? and the chunky finishing polish?? They have all been shook, and no difference.

Product separation is normal, but it should go back together. But, sometime with longer than normal storage intervals, part of the chemicals can gas off through the bottle material and make the remaining composition watery. Usually you can pour off some of the excess and it will go back together fine. If that doesn't work see if you can return it. If it's not an "as-is" clearance sale they should.

supposed to be getting mine today, hopefully I don't have that problem also.

I am going to send them back today. Hopefully AG covers shipping on their end.

Between this thread and that pad cleaner aquatic species experiment I'm getting depressed about the possibility my extensive flavor-of-the-month collection from 2004-2006 is going to wind up in the trash...this thread reminded me to go down and shake some of it last night...my Meg's 80-series polishes sounded a little more watery than I remembered them...

This stuff is a bunch of chemicals. Chemicals are affected by a lot of different factors (light, temperature, half life, etc.) and will break down over time. I think it is unreasonable to think that any retailer is responsible for product that is more than 90 days. Use it or lose it. Stock piling is a risk you take and should not be a burden on AG or the manufacturer.

I am not stock piling. These are the way they came out of the box yesterday.

?

My polish 2 that I got on BOGO is very watery as well. Never had it before (and honestly thought I was ordering metal polish) so not sure if this is normal or not.

I'm not suggesting otherwise (although I think 90 days is a little short). On another forum in the old days we discussed shelf lives and many of us had products of one sort or another that were 20 years old and still fine.

I've had to throw out some Meg's glazes from the 80's that turned to chewing gum in the bottle (the bottles were clear then!), but most of the stuff seems to store ok. Just not sure if the current formulas for stuff which are more water-based and less solvent-based have shorter shelf lives or are more finicky how you store them.

I clearly have the same issue. I have the new formulas for each OPT Product, but these old formulas should still not be like this.... Polish 2 is very very watery and the finishing polish is really chunky no matter how long you shake it for.

Sorry, BigA. My comment wasn't targetted at you. I understand why you thought it could have been, though. I was making a general statement about the current discussion going on in the thread. I was not speaking to anyone specific.

Shake well, very well and for a bit longer than normal.

I have already attempted that. The Finishing polish, no matter how long you shake it always looks like RICE PUDDING. THE OPT Polish TWO is thinner than water!!

It sounds like you'really unhappy with what you got and your entitled to feel that way. I was in a similiar situation myself in the past with another retailer and some watery Collinite. I suggest that you call AG Customer Service as Nick has already suggested and request a refund or exchange. Sometimes products go bad. Let AG make it right.
