Product - "Drywash"

wheres B&B by the way? Havent seen him post

Im here by the way lol - just took a break for awhile from the negative stuff.

I told many in PM's (especially those up north) that this product does not work well under 45 degree weather..... it streaks and is a pain to get off, even to the point where I left my fleets alone for about 3 months through the winter. Unfortunately I didn't make this public in the threads I posted, but then again I didn't expect the scrutiny that I received lol!

If Seajay got that large scuff from the product he used I would be extremely shocked..... unless I am the luckiest detailer in the world....... I even use this product after corrections as the finishing wax - cause I really like this product adn it produces great results for myself. Why would I spend so many hours correcting paint then mar it with this product ?!!??! Well curious t see what you think when it gets in the 50's and up - plus please remember the technique I told you in the PM :xyxthumbs:

I still don't understand all of the negative feedback for this drywash stuff (whatever brand it is). I guess some people are a little less open to new ideas. Seems like doing drywash on a customers car every two weeks or so to keep it looking good would be a great thing, seeing as how it save set up time and water, and probably cost, too. 'O well.

My mentality is, if you havent tried the product then you certainly dont have any reason to say anything negative. But then again, like you said, alot of people are just not opened minded.

All I know is when I first started asking about waterless car products on AG 12 years ago. I was ignored for quite some time. By some of the biggest product guys here. Now everyone and his brother has a waterless or less water product. Glad I stayed with it. For the naysayers, you should have came when I did! Business is Great!

FYI - The scuff I really don't think is from using this product. It looks more like someone rubbed up against my truck while it was dirty. So, I'm in no way saying that this product caused that.

I do plan on testing the product again when the temps get up. I do think that the lower temps and the fact that my truck was filthy had a lot to do with my results.

Either way I'll be correcting my truck once again this spring (if I can find some time). I then want to test this product after that. Since my truck has some swirls from the winter anyway I might as well start with a clean slate. This way I can really test the product and ensure that it isn't creating any swirls or scratches. Not that I don't believe you B&B just want to make my own opinion.

Glad to see your back by the way!

LOL - business is great man.... glad it has worked for you. I did 6 rides this way today , 1 being a full exterior full interior minus correction.... and Im pooped lol. Got an RV and 2 more cars tomorrow using this drywash (RV I am using water/soap/bucket method though). I thought maybe the word "drywash" was wrong with how people on here were picking it apart.... but I noticed today that even the label on the product I use calls it Drywash..... so guess I was told right 13 years ago lol. Glad business is good for you man :dblthumb2:

I've never been a fan of waterless, or rinseless washes to begin with. I love ONR for a bunch of reasons other than using it as a wash. I'm a pressure washer man! Nice review though. I'm still interested in this product for it's ability to be polished. It sounds to me kinda like aquawax. I'm still gonna try it out some time! Thanks Jay! :props:

Thanks Jay. I'll think about it. If the time comes where I actually might purchase some...I'll let you know. It seems a lot to me like AquaWax. I really like Malcos AquaWax. It can be polished even after drying in the sun. That's what I love about it. Sometimes in the summer I run $25 wash & express wax drive up specials and use AquaWax for that. :xyxthumbs:

Please let it be known that you are not speaking of Duragloss AquaWax. This product is nothing like Duragloss offering.

The product comes in a 1 gallon concentrate that dilutes to 8:1. So, I mixed some up in my mercury pro+ spray bottle at an 8:1 ratio.

SeaJay,

I found this thread via searching because a recent thread was raving about this "mystery" waterless wash and this was the product being used. My questions is:

It sounds like you diluted the $90 concentrate of ecosmart by 1:8 with water for direct use. From my understanding (granted I have never had my hands on this), you should be diluting this to 1:64 for actual use. The normal "RU" ready to use gallon says to make a 1:8 spray solution for detailing/waterless washing. The concentrate is 8-10 times as strong, so it needs to be diluted 1:8 into a gallon jug to make the RU version. The alternative would be to treat this stuff like Ultima Waterless Wash+ and add a 1/2 ounce to a 30 ounce bottle.

Have you tried using it at this dilution? Perhaps the plastic darkening and streaking were due to the overconcentration?

Again, I'm just looking for information here and don't have experience with the product. I just thought it was strange you were using the hyperconcentrate at 1:8, perhaps I misunderstood.
