I just bought a new 2013 F250 crew cab FX4 in Kodiak Brown. Can anyone recommend a product that will bring out the brown metallic and add depth. I'm a newbie at detailing and car care so any info will be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Evan J. Some of these steps are above my skill level I think. I'm not sure I could wetsand a $50k vehicle with only 200 miles on it. The compounding I might could tackle though. I did the baggy test and the paint felt smooth so I skipped the claying and applied meguiars NTX Tech Wax 2.0 and am pretty happy with the results but would like to see more metal lake.

Any swirls or scratches in the paint?

A fine cut polish might enhance the clarity of the metal flakes.

Not that I can see with my old eyes I inspected in both full sun and in my workshop/garage.

I just put BlackIce on my car today, putting the product on was very easy with the PC7424 wiping off was easy also I had to let it haze for longer then 10 minutes because it was kind of humid today. As far as reflection and depth go its so so, for the price I was not overly impressed Tuesday I'm going to do another coat and see what happens but as of right now it's not worth the price.

You may want to try Blackfire paint sealant you put that on after you prep the paint and top with a good wax and you are set my friend.

Wolfgang finishing glaze topped with their sealant has been very good for me!! I have a 2005 black F150 and a 2013 black flake Chevy Traverse. They both go on and come off super easy!!

Used the Pinnacle - Wolfgang kit on my black GMC Sierra 2500 and my wife's midnight blue Buick Enclave and was pleased with the results on both.View attachment 19755

If I could figure out how to upload photos I would post some pics of my truck. I follow the directions and it says unlimited file size but I suspect that I need to resize them before uploading, and I haven't figured out how to in Windows 8.

Use photo bucket then copy the IMG code and paste it in your reply

No close ups. I'll take some when I get back in town. Plus it started raining about 3 hrs after I polished it and we've gotten close to 3" with a chance for rain over the next 8 days.

Thanks Evan, I'll give it some thought.

If you're going to be doing this by hand you might want to take a look at the Duragloss products. They are reasonably priced, high quality, very durable and easy to use.

For now you could just put on a coat of DG 105 that will make the flake pop and offer 4-6 months protection. After every other wash or so you can boost it with DG Aquawax. Next spring, after claying, you might want to give it a coat of DG 501 from the marine line of DG products to give the paint a good cleaning then you can top that with the 105 if you like. Simple, effective and not too expensive.
