After coating my car last month with PBL paint coating and topping with Synergy I wanted to let it “go” for a while and collect dirt, dust, and whatever else Mother Nature had in mind for it. After letting the car go for a while to get dirty I had the time to put a shine back on it. After washing the wheels and tires first before starting on the paint, I noticed the panels of the fenders immediately around the wheels were beading water like crazy from being splashed from the hose! I couldn't believe with all the filth on the car how well the paint was beading! After spraying the car down to knock the dirt off, the whole car was beading even while covered with filth. Pictures to follow up down below…

Synergy Review

PBL Diamond Coating Shampoo
Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Shampoo

•Very nice pump head dispenser
•Color: Cherry
•Consistency: Very thick gel like soap
•Scent: After shave lotion
•Feel: After swishing the wash media around hand felt squeaky clean albeit soapy
•Performance: Great cleaning ability while rinsing clean and leaving nothing on the surface

Impressions: After getting the 2 buckets setup for washing duty and pumping in the required amount of soap, I noticed the thick gel like soap didn't breakup upon coming into contact with the water. The stream of soap from each pump slithered to the bottom of the bucket and rested. Only after agitation did the soap break up. After agitating the mixture it produced ample amount of suds. They were by no means thick and fluffy like some other soaps nor were they flat. When pulling my hand from the bucket I rubbed my fingers together to feel the lubricity of the soap. The lubricity was there however my fingers felt darn near squeaky clean after the water dripped away. This is due to the soap being formulated to strip away whatever is on the paint and leave nothing but the coating.

PBL Diamond Coating Detailer
Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Detailer

•Nicest pump action sprayer heads with beautiful atomization
•Color: Clear
•Consistency: Watery
•Scent: None
•Performance: Sprays on thin and wipes away effortlessly

PBL Diamond Coating Booster
Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Booster

•Nicest pump action sprayer heads with beautiful atomization
•Color: Clear
•Consistency: Marginally thicker than water
•Scent: IPA mixture
•Performance: Performs like a diluted version of PBL paint coating (obvious formulation differences)

Impressions: Both of these products behaved similar to one another in that the Detailer felt that it had a bit more cleaning power to remove light dusting from the surface and wiped away cleanly whereas the Booster applied like a thinner version of the PBL paint coating and had to be wiped away in a sense if you didn't you could potentially leave high spots.

Conclusion: Having dedicated coating maintenance products on the market now surely helps keeping your coating performing the way it was intended. Using dedicated products for its intended application not only helps revive its respective co-component but further enhances its performance without the negative qualities such as using a traditional spray sealant.

Thanks for the review Mike. :xyxthumbs:

When I saw the title I thought: "Every guys dream...." And it was; a detailing 3 way...

I'm shocked at how long you let your baby get dirty. Awesome review Mike!

Outstanding write up!

It's great to see how well your coating application worked. It's also nice to hear your opinions regarding the Coating Maintenance products.

I've heard in the past that the release of a coating booster should indicate some 'weakness' of the PBL coatings. I disagree with that opinion, and your first pictures (pre-wash) prove them wrong. The coating may not even need to be boosted, but if you do it, you'll guarantee your protection to the highest level possible.

IMO, the coating booster is a huge enhancement for the coating itself, it's easy / fast to apply, and over coated cars it performs even better - You'll see for yourself at your next car wash.

Adds shine? You bet! Your final pics are gorgeous, but for sure can't make justice for what you were seeing personally.

Add slickness? Not that much. In fact, I feel the coating booster leaving a more 'grabby' finish when compared to the lipstick slick coating finish. However, these properties are what guarantees the extreme water repellence you'll see on your next wash. Keep us updated!

Nice work, and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Kind Regards.

Sweet job on a sweet ride, Mike. Thanks for the great review! :xyxthumbs:

Fantastic review, Sir! You make it hard to resist splurging on PBL...

Great review Smack ! You smacked it again ! lol Great large review on that one . Might give Pinnacle a try in the future .

Thanks Marc! I couldn't believe the beading after the initial rinse as well as the beading after the wash! I was blown away!

Shot with my Nikon D3200 and standard 18-55mm lens with hood.

Love the review and the beading is insane!

Thanks Buddy! I couldn't believe the way the paint beaded even when dirty!

I don't have the coating on my car but have 2 coats of the PBL sealant topped with 2 coats of Synergy. Using the PBL soap and detailer make the car look dripping wet after washing. Still waiting to use the booster. So far very impressed with the PBL line.

Awesome review Mike, i'm getting ready to coat my truck with PBL. i will be investing on these products as well to help with the upkeep.

Great review Mike. I should invest in some shampoo and booster now!

Mike,

Did you have trouble removing any residual booster? I did not have a good experience with removal of the booster and it left streaking for me that was exceptionally difficult to remove. I have not used it again since that incident. What was your technique specifically for application and removal?

I'm sorry stepping up first than the OP (who was questioned) about the application method, but I can give you some ideas,...

The booster is very easy to apply and streak free if you apply to a controlled area, then buff residual product immediately.

To do that, I recommend you to use a MF towel for application, another to buff residue just after.

Spray a mist or two over a folded in 4s MF towel - Spray a mist or two over a section of a panel (don't need to be so small, i.e., a roof, divide it into 4 sections).

Immediately spread the product evenly, front to back, side to side. Just after that, pick up your buffing MF towel and remove any residual product left.

Work the entire roof in 4 sections, buffing just after each section. At the end of a panel, I may do a last inspection and towel wipe to guarantee 100% streak free results.

Keep using your booster, I'm on my 3rd bottle right now and I'm loving it. Hope you can get more from it on your next use.

Kind Regards.

You should!

I have not run across any issues applying or removing residual Booster. My application is using one towel that has been primed with a spritz or two, and applying a spritz or two on the panel depending on how big it is. After spreading it around I use the second towel to even it out and buff it off.

Thanks for stepping in and giving your process as well Rafael. Sounds like we are doing identical processes.
