Product Review: Poorboy's World Liquid Natty's Blue

If I remember correctly Richard was thinking the same thing.

You are correct. I stated that I can't figure it out, meaning 100% of what affected the application/removal. That's why I performed 2 IPA wipe downs using 91% alcohol. When I make the next attempt I will skip the body solvent and just use Dawn/ACP soap mixture followed by IPA.

Richard... I don't think you need to give this product another shot. I applied LNB on my hood after a simple wash and clay. It applied rather roughly, and removal was a pain. The fact that LNB was like this, and also Natty's Red was a pain to remove, makes me disappointed in PB wax products lately (I have been happy with Bold n Bright though).

I can't comment on durability, but after my experience with both Nattys red and LNB, I stripped them both. Since I have a nuba like Fuzion and Souveran and even 845 that apply and remove much easier, I think my LNB and Natty Red will sit in the back of my shelf.

If you read his second go around his opinion changed. Out of all of the LNB threads this is the only one that talks about it being hard to remove. It was a dream for me when I applied and removed it.

Something is seriously wrong if you found it hard to apply.

Dwayne, CEE... what do you mean by this statement? Compared to what?

I guess I can rephrase my earlier statement as well. For me, it was much more difficult to apply and remove compared to say, any liquid sealant, Liquid Souveran, or even Colly 845. There was just a bit more "friction" so to speak. I guess I am spoiled by the buttery smooth application of liquid sealants like WGDGPS and Powerlock, and pastes like Souveran or Fuzion, and even liquid nubas (albeit some hybrid) like Liquid Souveran and 845.

The look that LNB left was nice, I'll admit, but nothing greater than the stuff I mentioned above. So if it were up to me, I'd choose something that is more user-friendly.

Again, experiences may vary... this was just what I experienced personally. LNB and Natty's Red for me are "tougher" to remove, compared to other LSP's I've used. Hopefully, I'm not the only one with this experience. I do recall others having the same experience.

Personally for me the LNB just came off soooooo easy. Easier then anything I've used other then say Souveran Paste. I did get a little dust so it's not a perfect product but with the ease of application and removal as well as the incredible ease of use in the sun I was very impressed. Also, I got good durability.

I used Natty's Blue paste and that was very easy to remove as well... basically equal with Fuzion on the removal aspect.

Thanks for the links CEE... wow, if you're saying LNB is removing almost as easy as Souveran paste, then there is something definitely wrong with either my batch of LNB or my method. I sure hope it's not my method, because I'm sure no rookie...

Am I the only one here who has found LNB and Natty's Red difficult to remove???

Hey Corey,

I don't know how much LNB came with your sample from PB. If you have some of your sample left, maybe you could send some to Richard to test side by side with his sample? Maybe a production lot of the wax performs differently and it's got nothing to do with the paint type or paint prep?

I found natty's red more difficult to remove in humid conditions, but when in normal conditions very easy to apply and remove

It wiped off just as easy for me as it did in both of Coreys videos. I also found it to be just as easy if not easier to remove as Souveran paste and Fuzion.

The talk about Nattys Red also confuses me. I had no real issues removing it.

Good idea Kurt, I'll get some in the mail.:xyxthumbs:

I have some Red thanks to my buddy Tad! Alas, I haven't used it yet.

Dwayne... I respect your experience and Corey's as well. But in no way did LNB remove like Souveran paste and/or Fuzion for me... I can, without doubt, 100% say that with confidence, with God as my witness :)

Therefore... the difficulty in removing LNB is attributable (in my humble opinion) to either of two things:

1) I had a bad batch (it's a production batch I bought off of AG).
2) I did something wrong (like I said, I can humbly say I know what I am doing with applying LSP's like most of you on here. All I did was wash, clay, and apply and remove LNB. I let it sit for about 5 minutes, then removed after it hazed. It was very grabby upon application and removal. Keep in mind that I shook the container of LNB vigorously before use like Colly's 845.)
3) Something on my hood was incompatible with LNB. (I had Menz Powerlock on the hood at that time. I washed it with Pinnacle Brilliance, dried, then clayed with Pinnacle Poly clay.)

So SOMETHING is not adding up.

Oh I believe you bud just like I believe Richard had a problem the first time he used it. Yes its obvious that it isn't playing nice with something. Now we just need to figure out what it was ;)

I just noticed that you got the production batch, I have no idea if they changed anything from the beta bottles we received and what is being sold.

Now I need to bust my bottle back out and try it on different parts of my car. On account of the blind samples thread I have like 5 or 6 different waxes and sealants on my paint :)

Okay here are my results. I tossed in Nattys Red just for the heck of it :)

LNB over Souveran Paste came off like a dream

LNB over Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray Sealant took an extra swipe.

LNB over 3M Performance Finish did give me a little trouble wiping clean. I could see this being a problem when doing a whole car.

LNB over Liquid Souveran came off like a dream.

LNB over Surf City Reef Barrier took a couple extra swipes

LNB over Fuzion came off like a dream

I got pretty much the same results with Nattys Red as everything posted above accept for one. Nattys Red was pretty much a pain to get off the 3M performance Finish.

Now that my car is confused at what I am doing to it I think I'm gonna strip it all off and get some UPGP on it.

Well, here is/was my review of LNB for anybody who wants to see it, if you haven't already done so: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/27731-late-review-liquid-natty-blue.html

I have tried it twice: once on our silver Accord that had been clayed, polished with Meg's UC, and had DP Poli-Coat and Max Wax applied several weeks prior; also applied to our beige 2001 Accord that had been polished with 105/205 and had a coat of White Diamond Glaze applied. It was a breeze to wipe off both times, the only time I had a problem was on places where it had been applied too thick. Other than that, no problems. Probably won't play with it again until spring comes, but I thought it was a very nice product.

I'm a little confused. Did you try LNB only over other waxes/sealants for this test? I thought that Richard had issues even with IPA wiped "clean" paint.

Why would 3M Performance Finish be different? It is a silicone based sealant wax according to the website, but silicone is fairly common in car products. I wonder about the Surf City and Blackfire which also required an extra swipe. Seems the Natty's doesn't like to play with the 3M product.

I just thought I would give it a try over other products to see if I got different results. I have no idea why it plays the way it does with the 3M. I honestly thought for sure it would act the same way with all of them.

Thanks for doing this Dwayne... Yeah I have no idea either. Maybe I will give it another try again on two panels. I'll probably strip one of them, then apply LNB... then I'll apply LNB to another panel with existing sealant/or other LSP and see what that does.

Maybe I'm just overreacting to what I considered to be "difficult" to remove. To me, anything that swipes on and off like butter, is EASY.... these include fuzion and powerlock and souveran etc... LNB was grabby to me. And yes, dusty too. It hazed up quick that day in the garage. Maybe it was the humidity?????
