With all the debate about IPA wipe downs, I decided to try Menzerna Top Inspection. While IPA can be a bit grabby at times when wiping, Top Inspection was VERY grabby!! I don't see how the paint cannot be marred while using this stuff to inspect results. I was very surprised, but not in a good way. It's very expensive, too! I'll stick to IPA wipe downs(around 10% IPA).

Interesting Mark, I've always wanted to try this stuff but now I'm not so sure. I have no issues with an IPA wipe, in fact, it works quite well. I'm wondering if this is one of those times to be satisfied with what works....:props:

If it ain't broke don't fix it.....

I agree, Bobby.

It seems to wipe off cleanly on paint that's in good condition(my car). However, I was polishing an 04 pilot today which was in bad shape, and TI was miserable. I remember someone else making a comment awhile back that TI was grabby, but I wanted to try it for myself.

I want to preface this by saying I'm not a chemical engineer or anything crazy like that, but here is what I have found with IPA wipe downs.

If I mix the IPA with distilled water it tends to be much less grabby than if I mix it with regular tap water. I'm not sure if this was just a coincidence or not, but now I always mix it with distilled water and it is very rarely grabby. Again maybe it's just in my head, but that’s what I have found.

I use ipa with distilled water as well and I've had no issues with friction. Never tried on tap water though.

+1. I have some TI as well and noticed immediately that it doesn't wipe off easily. I'll finish what I have, but I'm not so sure I'll include this item in my future purchases. I have the Griot's Pre-Wax cleanser which I believe is to be used for the same purposes as TI but I've not tried it yet. After I try it I'll post a little review.
