While detailing after a camping trip I came across an area that I have neglected for some time. It is the rubber piece that all the wires go through in my door jamb. I would like to say that door jambs are one of my favorite things to detail. When I tried to clean the rubber in the past I had no luck (or any product intended for the job).

So, a while ago I accidentally ordered 2 different trim products, Poorboy's Trim restorer from AGO and ## Extreme VRP from DI (funny that they both smell the same, like coconut suntan lotion). When I came across the rubber piece this time I was prepared :D and my first thought was to do a quick reveiw.

See where I tried to clean the rubber a over a year ago?

For reference I taped a line across. First up was Chemical Guys V.R.P. on the bottom half. Without anything to compare against I was very impressed with how easily the bulk of the white crap came off but it wasn't perfect. Then I switched to the Poorboy's. I tried my best to give equal effort.

The Chemical Guys wasn't bad, about equal in the looks department, but the Poorboy's was absolutely superior in performance. So I hit the whole thing again with that.

Then the tires :D

Very cool review. Did you clean the rubber first or did you just slap the two products on?

As I remember VRT is a thick white lotion, while Trim Restorer is a clear slippery liquid. I have had nothing but great results using TR from Poorboys and prefer it over most other products to date.

so is PB TR a dye? or just a really good cleaner/rejuvenator

not a dye its a protectant, Forever Black now thats a dye.

Thanks. I just slapped 'em on, using the product to clean. MF was quite dirty after. Second pass with PB's came out clean.

You are correct. PB's TR is awesome! I loved the results and ease of use.

You can hit these "RUBBER ACORDION CHANNELS" with Chemical Guys Bare Bones and get months of long lasting durable shine. There is nothing like it anywhere else and it is on sale right now at like 40% discount.

The Griots is Great ! Have been using it on a few projects lately. I can't wait till AG brings in their whole line. Having to shop half and half to get their products is a pain in the BUTT!

I think we will see more Griots here shortly, they probably need to gear up to fill our orders and there own too. I see more and more added every week. I cannot wait to try their wheelwell spray nozzle as its looks rather cool too.

17 days later. Two washes since application, but the area has not been payed any special attention. A couple spots need another wipe down, mostly on the bottom half... Coincidence?
