Quick Review: Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant, rubber trim sealant, rubber protectant, exterior trim products, metal sealer

Descriptions from the site

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is the only exterior trim protectant you need. This one product provides durable, clear protection on plastics, rubber, vinyl, and metal exterior trim. Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is designed to maintain the beauty of your vehicle, not cover it up. The protection is strong enough for a daily driver but the finish is worthy of a show car.
Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is a special blend of clear polymers, UV blockers, and a rust inhibitor that shields exterior trim from the sun and weather. Lots of products "dress" rubber and vinyl trim, but few offer a natural looking finish plus real protection. Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is in a league of its own.

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant works equally well on metal wheels, tires, metal grills, plastic wiper cowls, textured bumpers and smooth wheel well guards. It works on ALL exterior trim and tires! Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant will give plastic, vinyl, and rubber a darker, newer appearance. On metal, Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant forms a clear coating that maintains its luster.

And the Instructions from the site

Clean the surface to be treated prior to application of Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. Surface should be completely dry.

Apply Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant to desired surface using a foam or microfiber applicator. If applying to tires, use a foam tire applicator. Apply a few drops to applicator and spread a thin, even coat over the surface. If used on hard, smooth surfaces such as the wheels or chrome trim, buff surface dry with a towel. If used on tires, allow to dry before driving.

After cleaning the trim I did an IPA wipe down, and I technically started this review before I even used BlackIce on my car, so I can give thoughts on durability. Again this was applied to the car on March 29th 2013. The updated pics below were taken on April 21, 2013. To apply I used the round makeup pads, kinda like the ones that come with Gtechniq, and did a total of 2 coats, and remember little goes a long way.

I will do this review with more pictures and less words…..I always preferred picture books

March 29th 2013

After Application

Day after application when I used Blackfire BlackIce

These pictures were taken this weekend, April 21, 2013. The car now sits outside almost day and night, we have had rain for 10 days in-between, the car has been washed once in a tunnel touch free wash, and twice with d114 in between. And tons of POLLEN!!!!!

But ok here are the final pics, and my final thoughts. This stuff works as advertised, and I am probably not going to look for a different trim sealant ever, I tried the Duragloss one and it lasted about a week for me. Wolfgang trim sealant works, easy to use, and $16 usually on sale….Nothing more to say :D

Downtown at my office

Beauty shot not trim related…

This was taken somewhere in between..

Enjoy and feel free to ask questions.

Holy crap that looks INCREDIBLE!! Awesome job!!!!!!:xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs:

Looks like an excellent product. Appreciate the review, this was a product I want to purchase in the future.

Dhaval nice job nice pictures and nice review. That's some nice stuff you have. I have the Meg's trim and tire gel on the way. Very interested in seeing how it performs for trim.

Nice review Dhaval.:xyxthumbs:

I love WGETS as well. Looks great, darkens well, and beads water just like WGDGPS. Not to mention it last pretty long IME, usually about 2-3 months for me. That's being conservative too because its actually still beading from when I applied it back at the end of August, it's just not pretty beading though. lol

When I first saw this picture I thought there was a huge dent above your fender, kinda like someone smashed it with a hammer, lucky it wasn't LOL. Anyways, very nice!.

Wow! That stuff seems amazing

Looks good Dhaval.

I am really interested in the WG TS. Thanks for the review.

Thanks Mike! I kept putting off buying this for a long time, picked it up on sale and should have bought it a lot sooner.

That is the detailer series one correct? When I need tire shine that is next on my list.

Thanks for the great review. :xyxthumbs:

I always thought WETS was just a sealant for trim in already good condition. I didn't know it could also restore the look of faded trim.

Looks very nice. I need to keep that in mind. Just have the 1Ze protectant stuff now, if it doesnt last ill pick some of this up. The Kenworth sleeper seal strip, rubber fairing tips and aero mirrors look poor. Mothers back to black lasts a week at best.

I just received a bottle of the trim sealant, I'll be applying it to trim on an 06' GMC I'm working on this weekend.
Can't wait to try it:dblthumb2:
Hoping it holds up for my customer which from what I read from your review it will.

Thanks

I've mentioned this before about the Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant, but I really like what this product also does for Rubber Weatherstrip, or other Rubber Pieces on a vehicle, like Hoses, and under hood trim.

My first experiment-test with this product was on my 1997 Tahoe, which sports all original Rubber Weatherstrip.

Now grant you, I've taken good care of the rubber on this truck over the years (with lesser products), but when I cleaned, and began to treat the rubber with this product, it was like brand new fresh rubber. Very black, very soft, and supple-smooth the rubber felt.

I liked the fact that it does not remain wet, and greasy like many silicone type products do. That it dries, but still feels buttery soft and smooth.

There might be better out there to be had, but I myself have never used a better product for rubber weatherstrip than WETS.

Only one car I had a issue with but it was the car, the trim was badly hammered and had a unique texture.

I have it on my 2001 Acura too, I will take a updated photo tomorrow.

I can't wait to try this. I've never used a trim sealant/restore before so I just ordered the 4oz. bottle.
