R.I.P Paul Walker

Apparently he was a quality good person who used his fame & image recognition to help others in desperate need. Looks like he understood "it's not all about me"

The complete MSNBC article can be seen here:

'Fast and Furious' actor Paul Walker dies in high-speed crash - TODAY.com

"Walker co-founded Reach Out Worldwide in 2010 to aid those affected by the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti and was working to help victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines.

“I’m a doer, and whether it was the tsunami in Sri Lanka or the earthquake in Indonesia, I was always saying, I should be there; I should be helping out," Walker wrote on the organization's site. "We’re only on the Earth for a short period of time. I want to take my success and parlay it into something bigger and better. As a father, my hope and goal is to help create a sustainable organization that will endure for the benefit of future generations. You put goodwill out there, it’s amazing what can be accomplished."

On Nov. 22, Reach Out Worldwide released a YouTube video where Walker, standing with his "Fast & Furious" colleagues, urges fans to donate to Philippines relief.

Yes, he was good in "Varsity Blues", also liked him in "Pleasantville" a quirky mostly B&W movie, "She's All That" (played a jerk perfectly), and "The Skulls"

RIP, such a tragedy.... was a great actor

Was a shame to hear. I was a big fan of the first Fast & Furious movie. Even as a guy who generally dislikes the whole 4 banger front wheel drive econo-car turned racer scene, I really appreciated the movie. Was just fun to watch. That movie, really, launched a resurgence in the 'tuner' scene.

It's always a shame. At least he went doing something fun I guess!

Very sad for sure. His friend was a professional driver. Really sad but this shows that no matter what, even professional driver make mistakes and this one was a huge one. You can clearly see on the video that speed was a factor as tire marks can be seen. They are in a better place now, may they rest in piece.

Hate to say this but why couldn't it be Kayne West or Kim Kardashian? Not that I wish them harm, but if a "celebrity" has to go, why do people like Kayne and Kim always seem to dodge the bullet? Doesn't seem right....for once I'd rather Ringo goes and not John.

Yup.

Tracks are built for a reason. With bumpers, huge amounts of room off the roads, gravel to slow you down; and no trees. People still die on tracks; but far less often than doing the same speeds on a public road!

Sucks because I saw fast and furious 6 for the first time last night!

Very sad indeed, and this was an actor who surely would've given us much more in time. I hope Vin is right, and hope he's racing up in heaven today. RIP

I hope he got the F&F 6 completed so the series could be dedicated to him. RIP
Fast and Furious 6 is coming out on dvd soon. Fast and Furious 7 is still in the works so they'll have to work on replacing him according to an article on yahoo.

Well said!!!!

Don't wish something like that on anyone. I'm old and I've worked EMS for a long time. For you young guys on here make it a learning experience. I for one would like to have you around here the rest of my life.

He was a great guy I had the privilege of meeting him a few years back. Really down to earth guy and he will be missed for sure. I fell bad for his daughter hope she is being taking care of.

Well, for one, those 2 you would rather see dead did not SPEED/RACE on public roads at the speed they were going. You notice, it is not talked about, (at least I haven't seen it) because why? I guess if you are famous, it is ok? A former pro driver should know better than better not to do what he did. He surely deserves the Darwin Award for his last decision in his life. What is sad is how they went. It could have been so easily prevented. Just sad. Now, if a 17 year old borrowed his dad's super car and did the same? People would be outraged. That's my rant.

This is a tragedy, but clearly a preventable one. If you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes. Don't speed and drive like a fool and your chances of living are a lot better.

Supposedly they are looking into a malfunction in the car maybe being the cause.

Sure, nobody wants to admit they were street racing, not a guy who became famous from movies on it. You don't have to have another car to be in a race. If you go 60mph in a 20mph school zone you are racing and deserve to get in a accident. I just hope you don't take a innocent life with you.

I didn't saw I wish them dead, I said I wish them no harm. I simply asked why a "celebrity" like them never dies young but people like John Lennon or Jimi Hendrix or even someone like Paul Walker who seemed like a genuine and kind person tend to die young.

Also we don't know any facts other than Walker was a passenger, just saying. Didn't mean to offend you if I did, I apologize.
