R.I.P Paul Walker

At the end of the day it's his family, (their families) that will suffer the most from the accident. Surely SPEED was a factor, maybe one of those very important "here's your sign" moments. :dunno: Doesn't take away from the tragedy of it all though.

Whether or not the movie continues will be something debated by the bean counters, and insurance companies covering the film itself.

They've been shooting a lot of it in and around Atlanta. Actually a couple of weeks ago they were not 10 minutes away, in an industrial park shooting at night during the week. They had open casting for 'extras' (mainly skinny girls that would be willing to wear cut-off T-shirts-ONLY) ;) and believe you me, those cars were FLYING!

Good points WeekendWarrior but the comparison of Jimi Hendrix and Paul Walker dying young isn't really a good one, Jimi was only 27 and Paul Walker was 40. Is 40 old, no way but 27 is young, REAL young. I hear what your sayin' in your post for sure!

Monica, I heard the same thing your sayin, something about the steering column and:or power steering fluid leaking!

There was a special on Speed years agp where Jay Leno took his Carrera GT on a track to set some production car record and got professional instruction and still spun the car out at a high speed, IIRC around 150 mph, something about that car for sure, Jay's car even had slicks on it too. More is coming out, just sucks about the outcome too. Heard yesterday the driver died instantly from the impact, Paul Walker died from both the impact AND the fire, THAT really sucks!!

You can see in the video, that the car was going way too fast. Now loose steering at 35mph (speed limit) and tell me the outcome would have been the same. People can butter this any way they want, they are both dead because of speeding.

What about pedophiles living a long time, and good people die young. THAT IS JUST LIFE.

How about those sisters, in Las Vegas in their 60s winning the jackpot (60 million or so), driving on the highway and this a$$hole alcoholic hits their car head on, killing one and the other paralyzed from the neck down. This guy's lawyer got him off so many times in the past, he should have been in jail decades ago. (that is the story I read from someone who went to school with this dummy)

I agree that speed kills, no matter whom is driving, safe car or one w/ an issue, doesn't matter. I heard this particular car was tuned to 1000 hp AND its hard to drive in stock form (605 hp) so one can imagine that you'd have to be REALLY REALLY careful!!

Hopefully this incident saves atleast one life!

I am currently trying to decide if I want to drive up on sunday, for some of the memorial meets happening.
We got a local theater to play The fast & the furious next week.

While this is sad that he passed. How many people die every year from auto accidents that you hear nothing about? Lots. But because they weren't in a movie you hear nothin about them. They were all people who influenced those around them just not on the scale that Paul walker did. It's sad but true however. Just wanted to put that out there.

Do it... you'll be mad if you don't.

I know huh... It's only about a 2 1/2 hour drive from san diego. I'm a little worried about the police activity though.

We had a memorial meet here in San Diego soon after his passing, and fool's had to be little kids. Revving like crazy some turbo'd with anti-lag cracking, along with burnouts and drifting... Police showed up thinking the backfires were the sound of gun shots.

I understand the kitties doing their burnout crap, etc... but damn! Be respectful for crying out loud! :bash:

Don't be surprised if those a-holes from the Westboro Baptist Church show up protesting people mourning the death of someone.

THIS!!!

I mean, we lose tens of thousands of innocent people annually to traffic accidents. Not to mention those that are not so innocent, driving fast, driving drunk, just driving stupid.

I for one cannot claim I never drove 'stupid' back in my younger years.... when the car seemed to know the way home somehow. But after starting my own towing business in Jan of 85, and seeing up close and personal I VERY QUICKLY developed a ZERO tolerance for not just one excuse, but ANY excuse that leads to loss of life.

You'll see (this time of year more than normal) ads from MADD, or taxi services offering to give you a free ride, rather than drive. What many don't know, (mostly because a lot of companies are too cheap to participate) is that towing companies have a service T.O.W.E.D. (Towing Operators Working to Eliminate Drunk Driving) and even one with AAA "Tow to Go", "Tipsy Tow" etc., all that'll tow you AND your vehicle home for free. If that saves just one life then the entire program is a success.

Whatever the 'excuse' ends up being that caused this tragic accident really doesn't matter. Because at the end of the day... THIS WAS PREVENTABLE!

I didn't saw I wish them dead, I said I wish them no harm. I simply asked why a "celebrity" like them never dies young but people like John Lennon or Jimi Hendrix or even someone like Paul Walker who seemed like a genuine and kind person tend to die young.

Also we don't know any facts other than Walker was a passenger, just saying. Didn't mean to offend you if I did, I apologize.

You didn't so no need to. I appreciate it though.

Just saw a little tribute to him on "Muscle Car".
