Radar detector reccomendation ?

The LEO that made you complain about how this country works doesn't live in this country. But beyond that, someone with an attitude like yours IS just the kind of guy LEO's like to give tickets to. I wish you'd keep a copy of what you said above in your wallet and read it in 30 years and see if it sounds silly to you when driving fast isn't the most important thing in your life anymore. When you get to a certain age certain things just don't make it on the risk/reward scale anymore.
 
The answer really depends on your jurisdiction and what they use. In SoCal it's almost all laser and if the traffic cop is good you are done. I have a neighbor who's a traffic motor officer and when he's "hunting" it's instant on and he only shots the vehicles he knows are speeding just as evidence to write, he's been a motor officer for 15 years.
The ones who just want to slow everybody down just set it on to cause the alarms to slow down traffic.
Also here if you got pulled over and started rustling around removing things, and I don't care how fast you can do it, that will get a weapon drawn and an out of the car now approach from the officer and rightfully so.
I have a friend form hockey who is an FBI agent, we got stopped for speeding he flashed his credentials and the traffic cop straight up said to him what's that for, "if I need diplomatic immunity I'll call you but that's not helping right now" . We died laughing at him while he was getting his ticket.
BTW I have a hardwired V1 in the dome light and the remote display in the ashtray. Ticket free for last 5 years only close calls being in the truck towing the boats none in the car with the V1.
 
Hey while you are at it check out the K40 RL-100 dash mount detector...A great unit and they will pay for your ticket if you get one as long as you are not found to have been intoxicated or in a school zone.

People who drive fast and get tickets always say some crap like that to make themselves feel better. We do illegal stuff, eh? B U L L S H I T! We are MORE accountable than any other profession in Ontario with the Police Services Act. On and OFF duty too. Your job doesn't demand that, I guarantee it!! Stop your whining.

Richy is a million percent spot on. I live my entire life under a microscope simply because I am an LEO. Everything I do, on and off duty, is scrutinized by the public. Do I speed at times? Sure do. If you consider 8 or 10 over on the Interstate a cop doing illegal stuff. Do I write tickets for others doing the same? Nope. Not for those speeds.

The reason we enforce speed laws is not to generate revenue. My agency gets a whopping 2 bucks from each ticket. The courts and the State get the rest. We write speeding citations as an education to the offender. Speed kills and we know it. I have nightmares nightly about all the dead people I have had to pull out of a mangled car, the body parts of dismembered children and those we simply hosed away with a fire hose because there was nothing left of them.

I speed on the race track where it's safe. If you know of a cop committing illegal acts report them but do not stick us all in the same box.

Well to start I'm ticket free for a very long time due to my V1 radar. I don't care what a Leo is sounds close to the personal vibrator brookstone sells. My attitude is because of the respect I get back from officers which is none I am one of the most respectful people when around an officer and their dushy attitude at all times is what makes the public hate them.

Now that I got That out I really don't know how cops are in ca so your right I won't put you in that bracket but I can tell you I'm sure plenty agree with me in the US especially NJ . Just like that cop the other day putting on his lights and flying by guess where he went ? Burger joint. I couldn't even explain what I wanted to do to him and no smart ass's he wasn't responding to a choking patron. I have about twenty of these stories on the top of my head. And you said report the officer lol this is a joke correct ?????????

How about you look up how the NJ state trooper caught with 4 DUI's was escorted home by other officers four times only now did someone blow the whistle and still I believe she hasn't been removed off the force. It disgusts me to be honest I wish I could count on the police but even my closest family and no we aren't scum bags tells me never call the police unless you have to or your in the middle of death. Worst part is a cop friend of myn told me the same thing. You guys are trained to make people feel comfortable and to tell the truth can you honestly say telling a cop the truth will do anything for you ? Na we both know it just pulls more info from the person being questioned. I have a story but it's just too redic to even write it makes me sad these are the people who protect and serve.

Lastly if your a good cop. I have the upmost respect for you and what you do everyday but to the jerkoff in the bushes, behind the bridge, in the median ( so stupid dangerous ) you are scumbags and have a chip on your shoulder from something in your life so your new authority makes you feel like god.

Sorry auto geek had to say my piece going to buff and polish my illegal license plate cover ( totally clear yet illegal) and my front tinted windows ( why do half of you cops have 5 percent tints on your front cruiser windows eh? And your personal vehicles?

Not sure who's the kid ? And yes that was pretty stupid but I have issue I think not. I have a family, pay taxes, work full time, and run a business not many kids doing that ?
