Really???

I'm pretty sure Yamaha didn't have anything to do with the SVO engine but had everything to do with the SHO engine. I need to check out that magazine for sure, WOW!

That's what I thought. But of course you never know.

The SHO engine was two Yamaha sportbike engines grafted together wasn't it? A real low displacement V8? Way cool and ahead of it's time.

Both the DOHC V6 found in gen I and II as well as the DOHC V8 in the gen III were Yamaha engines. The 6's were 3.0 and 3.2 liters and the 8 was a 3.4L.

So a buddy of mine is selling me an unused bottle of AW, another bottle about 1/2 used and a bottle of DG #111 that he says has about 70% left for $15.00.....reason being is because he's going back to Adam's, LOL! Just thought I'd pass this along to the group.

That's hilarious man...he should be burned at the stake for committing such a travesty.

He just like Adam's products for some reason, might have to go over there when he details his car and check this stuff out. Don't really know a lot about them to be honest, heard of em' but that's about it.

I was being sarcastic, haha. I have a bunch too and like them. :)

I used their products been on their forums, way to many homers, god forbid you say anything negative about the almighty adams. When the junk man was kicked to the curb I stopped dealing with them. Their products are not all that, I hear don't know if it's true that chemical guys makes a lot of his stuff. Your coworker is drinking the cool aid. I really like the selection of product here at auto geek which one does not have at adams plus these forums are just better.

A designated forum for one product, hmmm, I imagine there are fanboys there and you could never ever say anything that could be perceived as a negative comment.

They're not that bad. There's homers at any forums. Their tolerance is actually pretty large. A few months ago there was a nutjob on there with an obvious agenda towards his methods and products. He kept pushing advanced techniques like using the rotary for newbies and saying his ways are better. He actually lasted a few months on the forums with the members trying to be respectful but then when he started threatening the Adams crew directly he got banned.
But again they're not that bad. Earlier this year I emailed them about a pad issue I was having using the HF DA and they responded saying they don't have experience with it but suggested changing the backing plate which was actually the issue later confirmed by comments in the HF thread on this forum.

It's pretty common; really. I'm on a forum for Kawasaki Vulcans (actually, I moderate it too!). That's one model of one brand of motorcycle! But there are guys discussing Harley-Davidson, Honda, Suzuki; you name it. Lots of guys own multiple bikes and a Vulcan is just one of them. Heck; some have long since traded in their Vulcan on a Victory, Harley, or some other brand- but still post regularly. Naturally you have the brand loyalists and the bashing (though brand bashing and insults are against the rules! Then I get to swing the ban hammer; or at least the stern PM hammer).

There are lots of forums for specific brands of various things. There's a Meguiars forums, Corvette forums are a dime a dozen, some are a haven for brand worshipers; but others are a fantastic place for discussion even if there is one central focus.

So...on an Adam's forum, your surprised there are people that like Adam's? Good god man. Unlike you, I actually have experience over their, exactly 2.5K posts worth. While it used to be that way...they have changed their stance a ton, and actually allow plenty of discussion about other products, just no links to competitors. Which is fair. I am one of the most critical members, but I always provide feedback for ways to improve things. I've never been warned one time for my criticism. It's actually a great Forum, with very good members that do alot of great things for people.

Chemical Guys do not make Adam's products, you have to be joking. Maybe the same manufacturer of the chemicals, IDK, because some of the products are similar...but who cares?...but why even add that if you have no idea? To further strengthen your agenda?

Ok, what Cool Aid? You could say that with any brand that AG carries, there are "Fan Boys" all over this place. God forbid you say something bad about M105, 205 or Opti-Coat.

Of course there is a bigger selection, they are just one brand, are you kidding me? Both Forums are good IMO, you will get more overall information here because there are alot more Professionals on these boards, with a more diverse product line.

Very well put. I remember that dude...haha. He's probably one of the haters on here now.

hope you feel better. I have no agenda. Have a nice day

For the record;

The 'kool aid' implication from me had a lot more to do with the people than the product (I know nothing about Adams products).

There are people who use the same products I do who I'd say drink the kool aid. Ford; for example. Right now I have two of them; though the previous 2 cars where a Chevy and a Saturn! Just, as it happens, we have 2 Fords. But trust me, I'd be very annoyed by a Ford-or-nuttin' kind of guy bashing anything that isn't his previous blue oval (Even though I am kind of a Ford fan!).

I'm just not a fan of people who refuse to look at others products and who become emotionally tied to a PRODUCT LINE like it's their own child. It's a foreign concept to me. Perhaps I should be more sensitive; but, I just don't see the value in becoming so tied to a product. Like it? Love it? Recommend it? Great. But bash others to the point of insults for liking a different product? That just doesn't make sense. Life's too short.
