reccomend a water extractor

to start off I am just starting as a weekend detailer on the side for now, but in the future I want to be a little bit bigger than that. Right now as my major hardware for carpets are just my Mcculloch 1385 steamer and some folex. On one of my test cars the steamer did a good job but I still have some visible spots left on the carpet. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get a water extractor?


I want to have professional results but I see the prices for the bigger machines ($800+) and I just can't afford that now.


I've seen the little ones like the green machine spot pro and the rug doctor. which one would work best for my budget? or is there another one out there that you would recommend?

What is your preferred technique with the gear you have now?
 
sounds like the LGBM is for you right now. they can be found for under $100...

^plus one for the LGM. I have the heated model I got on sale at Macys for 89. Total was like 97 after shipping but well worth it.

I would spray the folex over the spots and agitate it in with my fingers then take the steam cleaner with a microfiber rag at the tip and steam clean the whole carpets. It took majority of the stains out but still there is some noticeably spots left over

I have the Bissell Little Green ProHeat. I think it works fine, but I have not had the opportunity to compare with anything else. Always wanted to pull the trigger on a professional machine, but I only do my own vehicles, and it's good enough for me.

I'll just toss this out...get a machine that you can also use in 'the house.' Most of the household models come with a hose and various hand attachment that will work on vehicles.

This way, you can get the most bang for the buck.
