Recommendation: BEAUTY Wax?

Folks... after begging and pleading, I think I was able to convince the wife to let me get/order 1 new "big" goodie from AG... and I am leaning towards purchasing a beauty wax as my product of choice.

I have had my tub of Souveran Paste for about 3 years now... I love it, it's my favorite LSP. I emphasize the term "beauty" wax, because I am well aware that Souveran is not that durable... probably a couple to 3 weeks at best. But that's not what matters to me. For me, it's simply the LOOK. Souveran on black is unreal for me. BUT, I am trying to open up and try new beauty waxes ;)

So.... here's my request/question. Could you please recommend a high-end ~$100 to ~$200 priced nuba wax for me??? I think I have narrowed it down to a select few list. If there's another wax not on this list, please recommend it. Again, the criteria is purely LOOK (wet-ness, great depth and warmth). I suppose application and removal (ease of use) is a big plus, but in the end I could forego if the look it creates is worth it.

Which of the following would you recommend to be "better" than Souveran (or at least comparable to)? and WHY!?!?!? It would be greatly appreciated if you can discuss your actual use of the recommended product. How did it work for you? What color was your paint? Application? Durability (low on priority, but still worth considering)?

Fuzion
Dodo Supernatural
P21S 100%
Sonax Premium Carnauba
Other??? (BFWD/MS, Victoria Concours, Swissvax, etc)

I bet most will reccomend Wolganag Fuzion or Dodo Supernatural. These are the only other "high end" waxes that AG sells. Athough, on black, I don't think AG sells anything better looking than Souveran. Supernatural gives a brighter, more reflective look, so that wouldn't be ideal for black.

Do you detail other cars?

if you can come up with the cashola swissvax concorso. is awesome and months of durabilty!!!!!
 
From your list I would recommend Wolfgang Fuzion. It is just as easy to use as Souveran, looks exceptional on black, but doesn't stop there. You can use it on any color, metallic paints really like it! Durability is not too bad, you get way more than 20-25 applications per container, and like Dodo SN wooden pot it comes with a free refill. You may experience some sweating with Dodo SN, so if you have black you may want to skip this. Don't get me wrong though, SN is an excellent choice. But if you are after something that delivers the wetness of Souveran then Fuzion is your answer. All of this is based on your list and budget of course.
 
The last two cars I used Fuzion on the results were flawless, plus it smells like candy and it's always more fun to work with products that smell great...

x3 for Fuzion!

Color: Dark Blue with some mettalic fleks
Ease of Application: Extremely easy
Ease of Removal: Came off about as easy as Natty's Blue (Very easy)
Smell: Tasty Candies!
Durability: Lasted a long time outside 24/7 (About 3 months if I remember correctly-not for sure on that)
 
Fuzion or Supernatural indeed ... you could spend alot more and find nothing better and be all the poorer for trying. I prefer Fuzion do to its ease of application and removal.
 
On a well prepped surface the difference between high end waxes (all really) is price, the actually look really begins to narrow. But if you want to try something new Fuzion or Supernatural would be the ones to try (it always fun to try new waxes/sealants).
 
OK, you guys are starting to lure me into your camp with Wolfgang Fuzion.

I do think it's as good as y'all say but I've been using liquid waxes and sealants becuase I like the way they go on using my Porter Cable DA and a red or gold pad. Applying these products with my DA polisher allows me to put on just the right amount of product, forcing it into the pores or the finish and not wasting it. Putting on the correct amount also makes buffing it off easy.

Do all of you apply Fuzion manually with an applicator pad? :cheers:

Thanks for the input everyone!!! It sounds like majority of you are recommending Fuzion over everything else, including Supernatural. So it sounds like ease of use is what puts it over Supernatural?

I was hoping the large tub was on sale in the included 30% off...but I guess not :(
 
also before I forget...can someone please explain the "sweating" issue with supernatural? who has witnessed this?

I have experienced it but nothing like Dark Horse. If you pull the car out in the sun and it starts to haze up, that's sweating. A lot of people fix this by wiping the car down with chilled distilled water.

I've seen this phenomenon too! Even with Souveran... perhaps it's the layer LSP underneath that it's not compatible with... or perhaps the humidity. So chilled distilled is the only solution? hmmm..

So Supernatural sees this more than any other wax? How about Fuzion? Sweat-free?
 
Something just seems odd here. I don't understand how a wax can cause condensation or sweating? Unless I'm not understanding the explanation clearly of course.

Slow down, I'm not saying that's the only way to fix the issue. Also I am not saying that any wax is sweat free. But if you experience it just do a wipe down with a quick detailer or try the chilled distilled water routine.

I'm with you as I don't understand how it happens. I have seen pictures of this and have been informed by a lot of very experienced detailers about this.
 
When the term "sweating" is used pertaining to a car wax, is that referring to the separation of the waxes lower melting oils/waxes when the car is brought out into the hot sun?

If so, you would think that would have been taken care of during the manufacturer process.
 
Sweating usually refers to a water forming droplets on the surface as you work a products.

I can't speak for how Dodo Juice Supernatural is made but I know there were some issues with M21 and sweating and "part" of the reason for this is because in order to make it VOC compliant here in the U.S. the chemists used water for a carrying agent instead of any type of VOC solvents...

Being earth friendly and all that good stuff...

I've never noticed it to affect the results or the performance of a product, it's just a visual characteristic that surprises people, then it gets discussed and dissected on discussion forums...

Interesting information Mike but if the manufacturer is using water in the mix won't it eventually evaporate thus eliminating the sweating?
