remarks from neighbors 2

I woudn't mind keeping one or two of the neighbors cars up to standards though.

My car is my rolling resume. It never gets dirty enough to really approximate my typical "mom taxi" minivan detail. So I have arrangements where I try out new products and processes on a couple more typical 'daily drivers' owned by friends and neighbors.

They think I'm crazy, but in a good way...

We recently had some interior painting done and the lead guy came over several times to check on the crew, inspect, etc. He kept saying how clean my cars always were - I did not consider them that clean. I consider that a complement.

They just shake their heads a lot. And I just smile and wave.

Right!?

Must be the neighborhood I live in. No one on my street washes their own cars.

They see me and give me looks. Then i'm :coolgleam:

My neighbor is a retard

They bought a new flat screen and put the empty box in front of my house so it would get broken into instead of theirs

I just chunked it in the middle of their front yard. Can't wait to see them later and hear their explanation

When I was a kid people said that I would wash the paint off my dads car, a 1946 maroon Dodge. Guess what I did. The paint on the hood, roof and trunk were down to the primer in some spot s, but it did shine.

I actually had one neighbor who was jogging by stop to come up and tell me how much he appreciated how I kept the truck clean, and take it in parades for my VFW. Said it was a good thing for the whole community.

I was kind of speechless, but managed to say thanks, glad you noticed.

I'm friends with several of my neighbors so I get tons of comments that I'm too OCD all the time. My next door neighbor told me a few years ago when he saw I was out detailing my Subaru again that I needed to let him know when I was going to sell it cause he was interested. He told me that he sees how well I maintained the car and that was worth money to him over buying a car that he didn't know the history.

I have to admit I thought he was blowing smoke about buying it but a month ago I was getting ready to sell it so I let him know. He was out of town but said his wife would be over within a few minutes to sign papers! Nice to sell the car in less than a few hours! :props:

After a long day detailing my car for the first time this past summer, I was about finished and a neighbor came jogging by my driveway. She had the audacity to say "hey its only a car!"

I would have responded with "at least I have a car!"

My neighbor would come home a say to me "cleanest car in America" not sure what he was trying to say to me as he is a car guy also

If there was a like feature on this board, I would like the #### outta this post.

As a kid I began washing my parents cars and also apply wax doing what I could at that age. After I bought my car and began to detail it and had neighbors watching what I was doing on came up and said that it was nice to see someone that was taking care of their car. My parents and other family member rarely if at all wash their car or apply wax. I wish I had picture of my parents previous Mini Van. You were able to press hole through the hood with just your pinky. lol

my neighbor always used to come over and say your gunna wash the paint off the car, until 3 days ago when she came over to ask if i could take a look at a scratch on her new car, made $20 in 15 minutes with my flex and some megs 66, (the scratch was/is deep into clear, i was surprised it wasnt into base coat) achieved 70% removal and the deeper spot is now polished and doesnt jump out til you get down and inspect it close.

I get the occasional, "You have the cleanest car in the neighborhood", comment. I'm also told I clean it too much or I'll "wax" the paint off.

I live in a townhouse. One of the "ladies" on the association pulled up in my driveway while I was finish cleaning my car and said "I always see you cleaning your car." "We should go into business together." My response was " Why should I go into business with you when I'm the one doing the work?" She didn't like that at all. Also tries to get a peek into my garage to see what I had in there. That's the bad thing about the townhouse/condo living. Nosey friggin condo cops. That's what I refer them as.

Remarks from my neighbors has always resulted in me detailing their car in exchange for favors. My old lady neighbor cleaned her car for 2 apple pies last christams, my police officer neighbor cleaned his car (hummer h2) for a week worth of pet sitting while the lady and I split town. Ive also detailed my little kid neighbors bicycle in exchange for him to teach me how to be better at call of duty. My neighbors are actually pretty cool, theres one guy who washes his car though, he murderes his paint everytime and then comes up to me and has the balls to say "thats not right" EVERYTIME!

The old lady across the street has told me, "You're so exciting to watch." I just thought that was a weird and creepy thing to say.
