Remove a sticker from a window?

I need some tips on how to get the residue from removing a sticker off my driver's side window. The sticker in question has already been removed, it was a "this product contains chemicals know to cause cancer" kind of sticker that they at least in Ca apparently put on cars now when new.

I remember years ago being told by my parents to "take this bottle of nail polish remover and get the rest of the sticker glue off" after we'd bought a new car but I'm not so sure that's the right thing to use. I was going to try out my Sprayway glass cleaner but wanted to get some tips in case that doesn't work.

FWIW the sticker has now been through 2 1/2 years of northern CA weather and the heat had caused it to start peeling when I rolled the window down. Don't know if that means it will be easier or harder to get the residue off.
 
Griot's Garage makes a pretty good adhesive remover. You might need multiple applications for stubborn goo, but the product works well.
 
You could use goo gone and a metal or plastic razor blade. Should be able to pick both of these things up at a local hardware store.
 
Scrape as much as you can with a razor blade then dampen a terrycloth towel with mineral spirits and wipe until the residue disappears...
 
Got any WD-40 around? Really, it will (in most cases) remove the leftover goo.

Discloser: I don't regularly use WD...Goof Off or the like IS my 'go to.'

:iagree: with what everyone above said.

It can also help to add a little heat before you start even with just a hairdryer.
 
WD-40 or orange oil with plastic blades and paper towels to break-up and remove the adhesive, then IPA followed by DPS Krystal Vision to clean up the WD-40 and make your glass perfect.
 
Thanks all. I ended up having none of the suggestions laying around so just for the heck of it I tried a terry cloth and the Sprayway cleaner before I ran out to buy something. I managed to get it all off pretty easily with that. I guess the sticker had been baking so long in the car that after 2 1/2 years the stuff really wasn't all that stuck on anymore. I guess that makes sense since the sticker pretty much just peeled right off with no force yesterday when I got in the car yesterday afternoon.
 
I use Goo Gone and Oops here. The latter is the stronger.

I just did a car today that had a super big Honda logo dead center of the rear window. Looked like someone tried to peel off the sticker and failed. The sticker had been on there for sometime because it left an "imprint" on the window tint. What i did and have always done is... spray a good amount of Stoner window cleaner or use some kind of lubrication and a razor blade and follow up with steel wool #0000 and you'll never tell there was anything there beside "imprint" from the UV into the window tint.
