I guess I'm just old, but I don't get the flat paint on the whole car thing...or the black wheels for that matter.

I mostly agree, probably because most of the cars I've seen with flat paint look like a kid did it. But I saw a flat black mustang in one of the autogeek photo galleries a while back that looked awesome. With the right car and in the hands of a professional, I think the flat black look could be great.

that wax pattern looks like it would have made a nice abstract painting

think I see a figure in there

Take it back to the body shop and tell them to re-paint it for giving you bad advice.

Thank you! I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma that I painted matte black last year... I decided it would be a good idea to wax it... Bad idea... Uggghhh thanks to this post, I used Magic Erasers and the wax came out of the paint!!! No side effects and it did not remove any of the paint... It looks just as good as it did when I got it back from the paint shop... I won't be waxing it again lol
