Repairing "The other guy's" work.

What is LSP? Anytips on getting the scratches out underneath the hand itself? Just alot of elbow grease? Looking beautiful so far, I hope the rain holds out for you.

looks like my neighbors Impala I just fixed last weekend due to a hack detail job from a shop

Just read this on Detailing World......nice job.
I didn't post this on detailing world. Must be a different thread. Thanks for the compliment though.

LSP is wax or sealant LSP = Last Step Protection. I use M-105 on a terry cloth and rub like I never rubbed before to get the scratches out from under the handles. Thanks for the compliment.

Here's where I am with this now. Covered in dust and starving. All the compounding and polishing is finished. After a rest, a shower and some kibble I'm headed up to the local coin-op to clean off all the dust and the other guys wax.

I was running low on M-105 so after doing all the spot compounding, on the rest of the paint I used Farécla "Total" on a soft Dynabrade 8" wool pad to compound with my Makita and then followed that with an LC flat 6" white polishing pad and Meguiar's D-151 on my Flex 3401 to finish with.

Here's what the rest of the paint looked like before compounding.

Can you believe that someone thought that this is detailed. They did it 2 weeks ago. Sad, very sad. Here's what it is looking like now. (covered in dust)

Wow... Just wow. Words can't even express how bad that was.

Great job fixing their work!

That is some nice work there. Question for you - how did you get rid of all the scratches behind the door handle? It looks like there isn't any space to get a 4" DA pad in there. Did you do it by hand?

dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm its a epic transformation dude!

Thanks Twister.
looking great. sux to go over someone elses crappy work.
Thanks Andrew, it's actually a great opportunity to put together some material for marketing my services. There's always something useful to come out of any bad situation in life. (glass half full)
Great work, The previous is almost unbelievable...
Thanks trerc, this shop is predominantly a mechanical repair business. They just recently added the detailing services. These type of results have got to be hurting their overall reputation as a business.

I use M-105 on a terry cloth and rub like I never rubbed before to get the scratches out from under the handles. Thanks for the compliment. They are usually just marks from fingernails rubbing against the paint and aren't that hard to clean up with M-105. I do the hand work before doing the final polishing around that area so that any rub marks are removed before applying the wax or sealant.
All i can say is WOW!
Yeah right. The Farécla cleaned up the deeper defects nicely and finished near wax ready. You should like the samples of it.
amazing work!
Thank you. Too bad I couldn't do anything with the areas where they sanded and or buffed right through the paint, I see a body shop bill heading their way.

Thanks.
