Review: Hybrid V7 by Chemical Guys

Thanks for the great review...I tried V7 a while back and thought it was just okay. I doubt I will get it again.

It's getting a little weird with all the talk of tasting car care products...

v7 smells good, not to be weird and looks great under collinite 845. I would like to see a slightly better sprayer that dispenses less product all over. I think a little too much is used

I hate the standard clear CG sprayers their products come with, I replace them all with better sprayers like the grey ones CG sells. FAR better sprayer with a nice fine even mist. I have well over a dozen of those clear sprayers just taking up room in a big bunch in the bottom of my detailing cabinet. I really should put them up for trade come to think of it. :D You can actually get those better style grey sprayers even cheaper than from CG direct from us plastic and they have orange which matches the V7 bottle (yes I actually matched the sprayer color to the product on my bottle haha).

Try it on a computer keyboard, mouse, monitor screen, or smart phone....it really cleans fantastically which is rarely mentioned in any reviews I've read.

:iagree: I seem to use V7 more around the house than in the garage. I don't know about cleaning abilities but when my devices need shined up I reach for V7 more often than not.

Thanks for the write up Swanic! Well done!

I've never had problems with CG'S support and all of the products I bought works as advertised.
I wish people would stop bashing products and just let the person make up their mind about it, bashing does nothing but causes members to argue.

There are other products from other companies that I didn't care of but no reason for me to bash them being others may love it.
If it works for you then use it:)

Great review and I agree with your assessment. I use V7 after every wash. A little goes a long way so the $40 I spent on the gallon size was justified.

My dog loves the smell of it, too.

Omg....... Tasting Detailing supplies?
Well thats new.... and rather curious of you fellas lol.

Can anyone compare V7 to Adams Detail Spray?
Ever since i discovered the Adams, i been using it as drying aid and my go to quick detailer....
Is about $10 more than V7....
So i was wondering if anyone have any inputs or experienced with both of them.

PS: So no matter how you wipe and buff using V7, it is STREAK FREE everytime?

I never used Adam's. But I can't get V7 to streak. It's very good.

V7 is much more versatile with uses as a detail spray, spray sealant, glass cleaner, and numerous other options and has added sealant properties. Adams Detail Spray is good in a pinch or as a drying aid but I think overall V7 is the better product.

MSDS. Last page has some overlap.

Has anyone tried this stuff out in cold weather? Like 50 degrees and lower? How does it perform then? Just curious.

Not well. D156 is the choice in my opinion. It's simply superb in any condition.

I have been using V7 since it came out. Durability isn't it's strong point, but the ease of use and the shine/anti static of it are outstanding. Also, I put a few drops of poly charger in mine which seems to up the anti static properties.

Anybody try the "nanoskin shock" ? It is also a spray sealant (same scent and color ironically). I have a small sample that I have not used yet. It retails 9.99 vs 16.99. Nanoskin has not let me down yet.

I haven't tried Shock, but I have Hydrophobic Spray Polymer (Hydro Express) and its different than V7.

I've noticed if I use V7 after every wash. The static charge decreases greatly over time and dust attraction decreases. Not like a coating would decrease static, but better than some products I have.

V7 used week after week really does improve the overall anti static factor but you have to stick with it.
