Review - Meguiar's Ultimate Fast Finish

I applied UFF on my wifes black dd a few weeks ago and have been ww'ing every week for the last two weeks. Beading is great and slick as when first applied. I had the day off today and was passing by wife's work on the way home and noticed a bird bomb from hell on the hood. I took out my diluted McKee's N-914 and a mf towel and wiped it away like butter.

Here are some beading shots early in the morning. Post night of heavy rain. Not going to wipe off as it's still drizzling slightly.
UFF applied 3 days ago. Rims wearing hydro2 lite.

I think there is going lot be a lot more aerosol packaging in the future as it becomes more accepted. Sonax have been doing it for years and many have said that aerosol is somehow an inferior delivery method, but I've found quite the opposite.

We have a Somax product in Europe that I dont think you get in the US - called Long Term Protection. Its basically 400ml of PNS product that is tweaked slightly as its a dream to wipe off, with none of the reported grabby feel, and leaves a pretty slick finish and nice gloss. You get the usual Sonax water behaviour and reduced dirt adherence but the compromise is slightly less durability than Polymer Netw Shield (only 34 months). The fact it applies like a QD and leaves a slicker finish is well worth losing a little longevity in my book as you can apply it as a drying aid anyway!

I havent yet seen this Megs product in Europe though.

I'm gonna start using up my ULW and replace it with this UFF for my basic wash and wax packages.

This is after a week, just doing the one spot and driving 6 hrs up north. I'm really liking this stuff

Quick update on my personal car.

Week 1 after application it was washed with D114. A couple days later it was rained on.

Week 2 received a bucket wash with D110 Hyper Wash.

I started off by rinsing it off and the beading looked good. The sheeting looked very good as well.

I had to use my fireman's nozzle as my trigger nozzle broke.

I finished by washing with D110 Hyper Wash. The beading and sheeting was unaltered.

After 2 weeks I have to say that UFF has been impressive. The paint stayed cleaner in between washes. It does not attract a lot of dust. The self cleaning effect is working well. The beading and sheeting is holding up quite well.

I had a couple of bird bombs and I used some D114 that I have in a spray bottle to remove them. The bird bombs came off as soon as I sprayed them down. No etching onto the paint.

Here's a quick 2 weeks update from me. Car maintained with ONR since UFF applied.

Rained heavily. Pulled into mall parking and here's what's left on the paint. Entry to pic taken ~5 minutes tops. Very happy with the product.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and just make a 3 hr drive to our camp site. It definitely does not allow much to stick to it

Well, I've hit the 3 month mark and I'm finally seeing beading drop off significantly. Nothing to be ashamed of, as this stuff has been hit hard with spring snows and ice melt chemicals, early summer heat, multiple touchless tunnel washes, and several hiway hours in multiple rain storms. Success, I say. Great product and impressive durability for what it is (that being super quick and easy to apply)

I'm in part attributing longevity to its not being touched with a wash mit. I finally gave up on my winter wash regimen in early march and just decided to apply UFF and not touch it again until I could do a top to bottom thorough spring detail. That time has come. I can comfortably recommend UFF for those inclined to easy maintainance.

So megs ff is now my official topper, I tried mckees 360 and it does well for protection but doesn't hold a light to fast finish in dusting. So now I'm topping everything with FF and it's working amazingly.

so here's my question. The box states "apply over wax to extend protection". Since when does a polymere get applied over a wax??

I think it's because in a lot of reviews many say it doesn't add much shine, so I think it was really developed for overall protection and less on shine so if u add it to a wax u get the shine but also added protection

A lot of my LSP's are starting to collect dust after making the switch... for ease of use & performance it is hard to beat.

Guz, any updates on your car? It's been a couple of months now. :)

I too have been using this as my LSP for quick jobs. I can do a whole midsize sedan with this stuff in like 15 minutes, leaving me more time for correction on any given job. For clients on a budget that's a huge plus.

A thought I've had with this is to do a 3 step process, since it's so easy to apply.

1. Basecoat UFF for longevity. Get the sealant right on the paint.

2. Topper for shine/depth.

3. UFF on top of topper to extend life of shine.

I'm curious if it would cause any buildup to reapply every couple of months as well. It's not any more difficult to use than any of the spray waxes I've used.

UFF has been long gone from my daily driver for a couple months now. I polished it off to coat it with Sonax CC36 ceramic coating that Meghan sent me for review.

But UFF was doing just fine for the couple months that I had it on the paint.

It sure does sound like too many products to use. I would stick with UFF as a stand alone form of protection.

I've been using UFF for a while now.I have about 5 applications (over a 2 month period, just because I wanted to) and it's beading like crazy.
