Review: Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax

Great review.
I really love the Meguiar's UQW.
It is very affordable, easy to use and gives good result.
UQW lasted me well over 1 month of slickness and water beading/sheeting that I found it painful to wet my car when I try to wash it last week! Im the MAN

I am not trying to hi-jack the post but I guess it might be good for me to share how the Meguiar's compare with 3M Quik Wax to members of AUTOGEEKONLINE.

LOOK:
3M is glossy, looks kind of like carnauba rather than Meguiar's bright synthetic sealant look. So it depends on what color and LSP you have on your car.

Product properties:
3M has no scent, no color.

Application:
3M is not slick during application, so you feel like spreading water on your paint.
Wipe on, (and dont even need to) wipe off the 3M on my silver car gives no streaks, no residue. Come back 2 hours later and you begin to feel that the paint is slick, shine with depth.
Come back 24 hours later, the paint looks/feels even better. It is not as slick as UQW, but is not bad.

Conclusion:
I will give the Meguiar's 5/5,
while the 3M is 4/5.
The 3M product is good by itself, but Meguiar's is even better when you put them side by side.
My car is silver (as you see from my forum picture) and sealed with NXT2.0 (Liquid). I prefer UQW over 3M.
Love the scent of UQW!!

Corey, you are the Review Master. Your reviews of detailing products are second to none. I can't think of anyone else on the web who puts as much care and attention into their product testing as you do. Your reviews are always well written, informative, and trustworthy.

Thank you for this review of UQW. I have been impressed with this product, but since it's the only spray wax I have used, I cannot compare it to the others on the market. I'm glad to see that it holds up well in the comparative testing.

Now that Meguiar's is offering this spray wax in its professional line (Synthetic Xpress Spray Wax - D156) and given its ease of use, I would think that professionals might want to consider using it in their basic wash packages. Customers will see the difference.

Quick, somebody get this guy his own TV show!

That is the epitome of product reviews, great job!

Has anyone from Megs or AG confirmed that this and UQW are exactly the same product? Some have theorized but I've yet to see it "in print", so to speak.

Took your advice and bought some today, after washing and drying the ar I gave it a go. I can not believe how easy it was and how little product was required, no streaking, paint is as slippery as can be and a gorgeous glow. Excellent recommendation and its so cheap too!
here's a look at the results

How about this link:
Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online

From that thread, Meg's Michael Stoops says:
Like others have already stated, it's not a concentrate of UQW, but essentially a repackaging of. The scent is more like M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer rather than UQW however.

Is that good enough?

Great review. Convinced me. I used the detailler and was impressed, now, iwill buy the spray wax. Macguiar is a great company and are the gatekeepers to the high end stuff.

Thank you very much. On page 2 the Meg's Rep says it is the same animal with a different scent. I suppose they want to capitalize on the smaller 15 oz spray bottles and that's why it is not advertised as the same in the gallon size to the masses. I appreciate you bringing this to everyone's attention. Why pay the stout price for 15 ounces when you can get a gallon for so much less per ounce? Thanks again.

imo there are definitely subtle differences between uqw and the gallon, as i find subtle differences between uqw and 135.

I prefer the uqw(otc) to Synthetic X-press Spray Wax(detailer line) but
like 135 (mirror glaze line) better than uqd (otc).

The bigger difference is 135 vs uqd though.

135 is such a sleeper and it is available in the smaller size too (don't need to buy a gallon)

10 Day Update:

This is after probably 2-3 thunderstorms.

Optimum Car Wax has taken over in the fastest sheeting category by a considerable margin. Ultimate Quick Wax has fallen to second with Duragloss Aquawax running a split second behind it.

Pinnacle Souvereign Spray Wax
Duragloss Aquwax

Hmmmmmmmm......very instresting Cory might have to give OCW a try! Thanks for all your Reviews and updates! Always enjoy seeing them!

I used OCW on my wheels recently and liked the slickness and the shine.

Great review, as always, Corey :xyxthumbs:

can Meguiers ultimate spray wax be used on rims? if so has anyone done so and results?

Wow!! OCW sheeting is really impressive!!

I had used UQW and Woflgang DG spritz sealant! DGSS seemed to leave a bit more gloss(noticeable)

but I still like UQW for quick touch ups while on the way! :D

Great review btw! :xyxthumbs:

Any updates on durability Corey?

Thanks for the in-depth review!

I'm really sorry I missed the regular updates on this one. My sincere apologies... I will go out and shoot a video today and we'll see whats left on any of them.

You can certainly use it on rims. I haven't but "any" spray wax will work on rims. I'm assuming you mean for a booster or to last a short time. Personally I like to have something extremely durable on my rims.
