REVIEW: Menzerna PF2500

After compounding and polishing I don't usually bother with an IPA for a wax or sealant application.

Does fg400 or 2500 contain any fillers or oils? I have both but haven't used them yet. Thanks

Yes for oils - no for fillers.

I found that PF2500 worked the same as Chemical Guys V36 on my VW as a final polish with a soft foam pad. With the hard paint on this car, SF4500 made no visible difference and I needed V32 (FG500 equivalent) with a medium pad to actually do any light scratch removal.

Thanks guys, guess ill do a test spot and ipa it after to see id the oils fill and if not no need the wipe down the whole car.

Hi. Let me advance a little, I don't have any scientific proof or evidence, but I do believe they feel a bit.

I've finished really better with PO203, however, as I would coat, I had to use a cleansing polish. Some minor scratches 'reappeared', so probably my cleansing stage took off the fillers.

By the way, if you finish with PO203 and go to a sealant or wax, I'm pretty sure it's worth more than for what I've used. I only like fillers as much as my will to fill minor defects. If I don't want any filling capacity, I hate them!

Kind Regards.

The 'filling' that your are seeing is probably the oil binding with a bit of polish dust. It should wipe off.

Some of these alleged filling issues are caused by inadequate work times. With these diminishing products, this can sometimes take a few minutes. Colder weather, softer pads and lower powered machines are all contributing factors. You really need to work the polish until its clear. I've found the best method is to move at a very, very slow arm speed at a high speed for 1-2 passes to get the most cut and best finish.

Hi, thank you for reply.

When you say clear, are yo saying 'transparent', or really CLEAR?

What's the pressure you would do for those 1-2 passes to get the most cut?

Thank you again,

Kind Regards.

I might have to add that to my never stopping growing arsenal. Great review.

If you're looking for something between a compound and a finishing polish (like M205), this is a great product. I've ordered it while looking for a 'cutting polish', very proud I've found it.

Although I do tend to prefer SMAT Meguiar's products (easy and efficient), using this product makes me re-think my polishing routine.

After using it, I'm really curious on 4000-4500 Menzerna products, and even the legenday FG400. Menzerna polishes are some serious professional products. AG also have a 30% discount on them, if I'm not wrong, it's MEN30 coupon. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Kind Regards.

I started giving this a try Friday after a rinseless wash on my 2013 Ram in Crystal Red. I started with a white CCS pad and noticed a few things. First, regardless of which polisher I used (Rupes or Flex) after several passes it would start to leave little gummy white spots. My speed was 4 on both units. The Flex was a 6.5" pad and the Rupes was a 5.5" pad. Then after the little gummies white bits started spitting off which ended up being chunks of polish. Was I working it too long? Also after my wipe down it seemed like I had to re-wipe again to remove dust? This normal? Finish looks great, I'm following it up with PBL paint coating and things look fantastic.

Probably too much product. How much are you using?

As far as difficult wipe on, it can sometimes be more difficult due to the oily composition. However, if you do not work the product long enough for full breakdown, this will be an issue.

I had the same problem over the weekend. Swapped out CCS pads for Hydrotech pads and used less product. No more problems! I don't like the CCS pads when using diminishing abrasives. The pockets hold and disperse fresh product when your trying to finish down and doesn't finish out well.

I'll try tangerine hydro tech pads tonight and see. Or should I try rupes white pad?

The white Rupes pad has very little cut.
Hydro tech cyan pad may be what you're looking for.

What speed are you using on the Rupes? I'd use speed 5 and very very slow arm movement. You need about 2 slow passes for the polish to cut and breakdown.

I was using between 4-5 on both machines. I think cyan is going to be too much cut for me. I was using white ccs polishing pads. The truck is a 2013 and has been very well cared for by me so I am just finishing it before sealing. Maybe I should drop down to the 4000 on a white rupes or tangerine pad. Or use Rupes Ultrafine on a white rupes pad.

I just corrected my black 2012 Ram 2500 plow truck this past weekend and trust me when I tell you....Rams have hard clear! I started out using Menz 2500 with a orange ccs pad and was barely making a dent in the swirls. Swapped out for Menz SI1500 with a cyan pad for the heavy spots and Menz PF2500 with cyan for the rest. Finished off with SF4000 and a tangerine pad. Pics below were take. After correction but before final wash and WDGPS!

Agree 100% on cutting back on product, switching from a ccs pad to a flat one, and SLOW arm movement.

Went to a 5.5" hydro tech pad, much inmproved, thanks for the tips! I put some pads in my cart and waiting for free shipping, missed it yesterday.
