I couldn't find it on their website. PM me a link?
Search "back to black" then go down to the fourth one. Part No. 06141

It's the 3rd Mothers product. No image yet either.

oops....... mea culpa....... So, I'll add this new cleaner then use the trim restorer....... should get even better results, which would be amazing!! :dblthumb2:It's not a new version - it's a different product.
Back-to-Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner. It's a cleaner, to be used before applying our trim restorer.
As you can see, my windshield cowling is dull & faded. The directions state to apply the product directly onto the brush. I decided to use the supplied brush to clean the hard to reach areas, and treat the rest of the trim with an MF towel. I thoroughly massaged the gel onto the trim, and buffed it off using moderate pressure. Its important not to let the product dry.
Very Nicely executed review, your format, photos and text editing are refreshing to read.
My questions are, what were the factors that led you to not following the directions and using a microfiber towel instead of using the brush as directed.
Your trim looked quite oxidized before and to be honest, it doesn't look much less oxidized after the product had been applied. Sure it's a different color but to me it looks uneven like you used too little amount of product and may not have gotten the full benefit of the product.
Maybe it's just the lighting in the photo, maybe it's just skepticism on my part. Maybe it's just that experience has proven to me over and over that half measures typically lead to a less than thorough result.
Is the brush too stiff, perhaps you had concerns about it scratching your plastic trim?
A few other questions...
Does the product have a slick silicone like feel when you get it on your fingers?
Does it leave a slimy feel like a strong APC might leave if you get it on your fingers?
Do you think this product will create a bond with Back to Black dressing, or prevent any silicone run off stains below side mirrors etc. when used with the Back to Black dressing. I've seen these streaks in the past using Back to Black in a very thin application after a few rains.
Not trying to be a douche, just trying to incite some deeper thought or discussion on the product and it's application methods.
Glad you enjoyed it, I have an article coming up soon so look out for that.Another great review. I will be picking this up when it is available.
Looking forward to your next review.
I agree! Thanks for checking it out.Looks like another great product.
Not a problem. Its easy for this product to be mistaken for a dressing. All clear now, thanks for the clarification Aaron!
Absolutely, thanks for checking it out. Thanks for the review! Definitely on my list of products to get.
If you ever get the chance to try it, let us know how it worked for you!Great review! Can't wait to try it on my '06 Mazda's neglected trim.
Excellent review, thank you! This is a product that was on my wish list as a maybe, but based on this review I am going to try it out. I know someone else asked although I didn't see an answer, but I was curious if anyone has followed up after this product with DLUX?
Thanks for the review.
I've been looking for a replacement to the Meguiars Ultimate Black.
The Meg's stuff does what it claims to do, but the results last only until the next rainfall, which in south Florida can be every couple of hours. Not to mention it's very greasy.
Will be picking up some Mother's soon.
mothers produces really good otc products. I love their rim cleaner, their showtime detailer and their cali gold wash. I was in a pinch on a friends wrangler while claying and their kit preformed very well.
