Goose: ONR (Optimum No Rinse) isn't supposed to have any suds, no rinse washes don't lather because they don't use a soap mix to clean the car, they use a special polymer mix. I have used both DP Rinseless wash and gloss and ONR and neither have any "suds", and they are both very thin with a water like consistency.

As for Opti-bond, I don't really think it's supposed to be a high gloss product. Unfortunately almost all the tire shine products on AG's website have a "high gloss" somewhere in their description. The fact is that not everyone (including me) wants a high gloss look to their tires, some want matte, some want satin and a lot of these products that have a "high gloss" listed somewhere, aren't actually intended to provide a high gloss, rather a satin sheen or matte rich appearance.

Yes this I am aware of ONR. I know that it is not a normal wash and shine and that it will not have the suds like duragloss 901. Just for the hype a lot of these products get on many car forums, many times it falls flat.

Ya, I know about opti-bond also. Overall just was hoping for more durability. It looks great on the cars in the garage The shine could have been a little more, but hey, whatyagonna do... :xyxthumbs:

Not just for suds, I Don't like it much at all. ONR is nothing special and nether is SSII. Seems to be there are many favors of the month on these forums. Until you try them yourself, can't tell if its BS or the product actually works.

And as for not using these products correctly, read directions, apply product. Not hard to understand.

Goose, reading directions and applying a product may not get you the kind of results your expecting. My example of prepping a car correctly to get the best gloss. If the paint is not preped properly you could follow directions using Swissvax Cystal Rock or Zymol Vintage and it will still look like crap.

maybe slightly... In all honesty I think that picture of the DP isn't fair. After you asked I went out to look again before I answered and at the locations of the pictures you are absolutely correct. However about a 1/4 way around the tire on the DP side it still looks to be holding up as well as the Opti. I would have taken another pic but I have to pull it back out in the sun each time I do as I don't have my lighting installed in my garage yet. (The halogens I have now screw up the look in pictures) I'd say theres probably about a 85% chance that I did not apply it evenly on the DP side and I am at fault. The thing is I reviewed DP by itself a few months ago and I don't remember seeing any areas of the tires look uneven and they lasted a lot longer then 1 week. Tommorrow or in the week 2 update I will be sure to get another picture of DP on the area that looks even.

I will say I can definetly notice a difference in the look at this point. From 6+ feet back can't really tell but from up close I do like the look of the Opti-bond more.

Well, even if the opti-bond is holding up better, there doesn't seem to be a huge difference, so you can't go wrong with either product. :xyxthumbs: Would that be an accurate statement, in your opinion?

You definetly can't go wrong with either product. Right now I am leaning towards Opti but I won't be picking a horse untill they cross the line unless one of them laps the other. LOL

I am planning to do another test with a 50/50 on them on a vehicle that stays outside 24/7. Also I beleive David is planning on doing a full review on the 2 on his vehicle that sees rain, sleet, brimstone, and occasionally volcanic ash.

I have been testing it and really haven't had much luck with the durability on a car that is driven everyday but parked in a garage at night.

I dilute it 1:1 and spray it out of a bottle onto an applicator. Much easier to apply than the thick gel. However, if you like the glossy look, diluting it would do the opposite, which I prefer. I think the durability of opti-bond is awesome.

It was driven approximately 120 miles.
It was not washed.
It is parked in a garage.
I didn't have any trouble with application.

CEE, I bought 5 spray bottles with chemical spray heads from Sam's Club for $6 total. At 1:1 it's still fairly thick. However, I detailed my friends truck a few days ago and sprayed the wheel wells with no problem. Once the product dried, the wheels wells looked great!! I tried chemical guys "bare bones" recently on wheel wells and it was too greasy for me. I like opti-bond much better! Excellent product for tires AND wheel wells.

I started using Optibond about 3 months ago as a gel. Nice stuff but I don't have a compressor to spray the 1:1 dilution. I need to pick up another spray bottle and give the 1:1 dilution a try. I found that 2 treatments of the gel over a couple of weeks hold up nicely. I like a more statin to matt look, so I don't seem to need to reapply for a couple of weeks. Also, no tire sling...

I recently decided to try ONR diluted at a claying dilution as a prewash spray before scrubbing down the tires and wheels with car wash and water. I figured that it might keep the wheel and tire treatments in good shape while minimizing the need for a heavy duty wheel cleaner. Seems to work, especially after rain. The wheels definately look brighter. It may also explain why the tire treatment seems to hold up nicely.

LOL, my car is definitely no stranger to the elements. And yes, I have a very similar review to this one coming soon.

Opti-bond has kept my tires easy to clean and with a low gloss satin look for so long I can't bear to remove it yet. I've been waiting for them to lose the "clean" look or stop beading water or get that brown build up (what is it, Antiozonant I think?), but they just look good to me all the time (weekly wash's, light agitation with soft brush and car soap + ONR or just rinsed off w/ pressure washer). Although, I'm not a "glossy tire guy" so i like the matte finish. :xyxthumbs:
