Review: Ultima Interior Shampoo Gel

Great review of a great product. It cleans very nicely and does not leave a tacky feel that I have noticed with some other interior cleaners.

Nice I'm depth review. Thank you. How does it compare to Powerclean or are they too different to compare?

Ok, I have some surprising results. I diluted some Optimum Power clean 2:1. I meant to dilute it 3:1 but after I did my test and came back inside I realized I had actually mixed it 2:1. I used 2 parts water and 1 part OPC.

I sprayed it on the passenger floor mat which was similar to the one you saw in the video but not as bad. I allowed it to sit for about the same time as what you saw in the video and then I scrubbed for about the same amount of time but on an even smaller and more concentrated area. Amazingly it did not clean those marks near as well as the Ultima did.

Also:after using Ultima your hands do not feel dried out at all while after usinng the OPC getting a little on your hands will give you that dried out feeling.

How much was used?

Do you mean on the whole car or on the seatbelt?

Thank you. I found the same results as far as the feel. I really like this product.

Thank you for checking into that, you didnt have to but it is very much appreciated. Well, looks like I will be placing another order tonight....awe shucks lol. I just ordered some OPC the other day and it should be arriving soon. I will most likely use it on wheels and engines as well as outer trim pieces and keep the Ultima for the interior. I was just wondering how much was used on the whole car. Just curious.

I can send you some samples if you want, just let me know what you would like. Not sure how to send it though-shipping method i mean.

Again thank you for checking into it, if there is anything I can do to return the favor let me know.

That really was a "top shelf" review.

OPC has a ton of uses so can't go wrong with that! I wanted to test the OPC on some other interior surfaces to report back how it compared on them as well but the rest of the car was clean. Different surfaces and different types of stains may react differently but I'm very impressed with the UISG's cleaning abilites.

I was just wondering how much was used on the whole car.

I think I used about 3-4 oz which did include the drivers floor mat but did not include the passenger floor mat. I think I could have used a lot less. On a car that size without stains I would assume it would only take an ounce or two. Note: I overapplied in those videos that were shown. That amount isn't usually needed.

It was my pleasure. That is very kind and generous of you but I've got more things then I will ever need. Thank you for the thought though! :)

Thanks for posting this. You always do great work, and I appreciate the attention to detail you put into these reviews. I picked up some of this stuff during their BOGO but haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. My all weather mats are getting filthy, so I think you've just convinced me to test it out for myself.

Rubber Floor Mats have been a real PITA for me. Protectants look great but leeave mats slippery and dangerous. I tried OPC with results like Corey's, i.e., average at best with a dull finish. The UISG offered the best of both APC's and 303. Clean with a nice finish like 303 but not slippery. Corey did you feel same about not being slippery?
BTW another great review Corey!

I'd like to see how it does on soiled carpets, which are my arch nemesis

Thank you - I look forward to your results :xyxthumbs:

Absolutely Jim! I agree, Not at all slippery. Thanks for the tip on the mats! It's really incredible how much better it worked on them compared to the OPC.

I'll try to get a chance to check this out for you but I'm getting a little behind on some things so I might not get a chance for awhile. If nobody else tests this and gets some info up for you remind me (pm) in two weeks.

EDIT: I just realized you weren't talking about carpet on a floor mat, but the plastic part. WOW!! I'm very surprised it cleaned it better than OPC @ 2:1!!!!! UISG is some potent stuff!!!

That is very interesting. However, I spoke to Dr G. about using OPC on carpets, and he suggested I do not use it for that application. I don't remember exactly what he said, but he said OPC will strip something from the carpet fibers. He also stated not to use OPC on facbric convertible tops.

I'm curious how OPC @ 3:1 would compare to UISP on dirty plastic interior panels and leather?

I'm a huge OPC fan. I currently use it on tires, wheels, wheel wells, engines, paint, interior panels, and leather. The only places where I was a *tad bit* hesitant using it is on interior panels and leather. However, I was confident that it was safe for the interior, so I still used it. However, after seeing the cleaning ability of UISG, there was no doubt in my mind that I had to order some. I really like how it's designed for interior use and better yet, that it cleans SO WELL!! If I'm satisfied with UISG(which I should be), I will continue to use OPC on tires, wheels, wheel wells, engines, and paint with great confidence, but will switch to UISG for interior cleaning(minus carpets, I have something great for that).

Thats great to hear Mark! It's hard to believe something so gentle that doesn't leave residue behind could be so effective isn't it.

GREAT review. just wondering how does it work on leather and carpet?

i have read the product description and they are written to sell a product. were as you used the product so honestly i would take a personal review over what a company claims. thank you

I just received UISG, and my initial testing shows that OPC @ 3:1 cleans better than UISG on interior panels. OPC seems to wipe off easier as well. UISG seems grabby when wiping off.

Thanks for adding your experince Mark. On the scuff marks of my rubber mats theres no question the UISG cleaned better (Was a big shock to me) I haven't compared the two on any other surface though. The grabby comment... was that on finished leather by any chance? I think I can understand what you mean but it hasn't been of any issue to me. On leather I just hold the mf firmly when rubbing.

No problem, Corey.

The grabby comment was on the dash in my z06.

Here's a couple pics side by side. UISG left, OPC @ 3:1 right. There's not a huge difference, but noticeable, IMO.
