Review:Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus

IME, the restorative properties are similar to PB's TR, UTTGP is much longer lasting and doesn't wash off or run in the rain. I used it on my tonneau cover a few weeks ago, buffed off the sheen to a matte finish after a few hours and it's unfazed after 4 washes. 303 would be gone after 1 wash, TR after a few washes. The TR left black streaks down the sides of my white truck after a day in the rain.

Gave the Ultima a try on the tires after pleasing results elsewhere. It appears about the same as the matte finish after buffing down an application of Stoner's More Shine, lasts about the same as well. As an aerosol is a lot easier application, especially with raised WOL tires I'll be sticking with the spray there.

UTTGP restores as well as Black WOW and is easier to use, beads like 845, doesn't run and appears thus far to have longevity better than anything else I've used. It'll be replacing most of the exterior dressings and protectants in my cabinet.

Great review by the OP... got me off my duff to add the observations I'd planned to share but hadn't got a round tuit yet.

Thanks for the info. :xyxthumbs: How long do you have to let it cure for on exterior trim?

jeez - did Corey keep any for himself? He sure gave away a bunch :p

Here's my problem .... I love reading these reviews but I then have an insatiable need to try out the products!

Great job on the review. BTW, what's your favorite type of car??

He probably didn't! I had time to receive it, review it, write it up, and observe it all before he even tried it

Thanks man! And I don't really get your question? If you're asking for a general type--sports car. Im the MAN

I was kind of joking. Your forum name is cobalt, you drive a cobalt and this review was on a cobalt.

Just pulling your leg, again nice review

Oh...ha..I can't believe I didn't catch on.

Actually my favorite car isn't a Cobalt at all. A cobalt is what I can afford..but I would really like a C6Z06. That is reasonable..if we're talking about unreasonable, I go Ferrari 360 or Gallardo all the way :props:

I have used Ultimate Tire and Trim Guard Plus on three different vehicles over the past year. I am very pleased with its performance. On the exterior trim its durability seems to last two to four months.

Good to know, I have yet to get anywhere near that with 303 :props:

I didn't think you could get any better on a wiper arm than 303 but I guess I was wrong.

I'll have to get some of the UTTGP.

Thanks for the durability report. Is there any specific variable on the durability? From this it is not significantly better than what I am using.

Very nice review thanks for posting, and very interesting meal you finished up with!

Thanks for the kind words! You sound as if you've never seen a meal like that before Meghan, I thought you were southern?

That's exactly what I thought before I tried out UTTGP. I thought there was no possible way that the trim could look any better, and that those other offerings out there were just a rip off of my money, and I was wrong Im the MAN

Awesome review! Wow, UTTGP gave a much better look than 303. I wonder how it compares to PB Trim restorer?

Mark,

My thoughts exactly! :props:

I've stated my personal experiences testing the following

  • 303 Aerospace
  • Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant
  • Poorboy's World trim Restorer

  • Poorboy's works really well leaving a rich black appearance to any plastic or rubber trim it's applied to.
  • Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant works similarly to Poorboy's but I think Poorboy's World Trim Restorer edges out the win between these two.
  • 303 Aerospace really didn't impress me at all and in my opinion is not even in the same class as Poorboy's World trim Restorer or the Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant. 303 Aerospace goes on milky and watery thin. It leaves streaking on wider areas and when it dries it's very dull and lifeless. To be quite honest it reminds me of Armor All which I stopped using nearly 30 years ago.
One thing to keep in mind is that all the testing was done on exterior trim. 303 Aerospace could be an entirely different animal if used on the interior.

Good review though and right in line with my conclusions as well!!

I would like UTTG a lot more if it wasn't in the crappy bottle they use. The cap leaks so much product and it gets all over my hands.
