This next comment is in response to some pms I've received in case I didn't make it clear in the review.

They are very similar. They are not "exactly" the same IMO. For all practical purposes the functionality of application and the final finish appears almost identical.

Durability is the main question which one would assume will also be very similar.

BTW, You sure did scrub those tires!! The nice thing about having the MB handy is you can dry the tire to check for cleanliness. I wish I had it with me this weekend...two tries and still did not a a tire perfectly clean.

LOL Al, I really wanted it clean so the durability will not be affected by what was left behind. I think this is the first time I've used UTTG on a tire that stays outside 24/7. On sky's tires it lasted forever, still there when I finally removed it but outside is different so I'm really looking forward to the durability test there. With the rain we've been getting more days than not it should be fun. That car went oceanside this weekend (not in the actual sand though) so the salt should help to add some harsh conditions as well. It's already got probably 200 miles on it by the end of today and will be nearing 400-500 by the end of the week I think.

To me, it appeared that Ultima Trim & Tire Guard have a little deeper color and was a bit more shinny but not by much. I'm curious to see over time which product holds up better and maintains its appearance.

I'm speaking on Ultima Trim and Tire Guard since this hasn't been out long enough to know yet.
I can tell you UTTG is so durable on wheels that I've had wheel cleaner leach onto my rims while I was only cleaning tires and it did NOT remove the UTTG. Durability is many many months. far longer than any wax and longer than any sealant I've ever used on rims. I'll be testing this to see if it can stand up to the same.

Ugh living right next to AG would cut out the whole 95 dollar sales.

I have a bottle on the way of ETS also, and I have a bottle of UTTG but its really hard to tell which is better ATM from your review. They both seem to be pretty identical in terms of looks from the photos but I guess we'll have to wait it out and see for the final word in durability in which is the go to product (but than again ETS could be made by Ultima...).

I dont understand why everyone keeps saying this. Doesn't everyone understand that all these companys can source the same chemicals with ease. They also have the ability to break down each product to see why it works.

If I would have to guess I would imagine that PBMA/AG/WG is in the biz to make money. and having a company like Ultima (which is another spin off company from PFC, similar to WG is to PBMA) make a product for you through there network would result in a huge loss in profit. I would think PMBA has the resources to handle this on there own to maximize profits.

now that I say that, does AG/PBMA own Premium finish care yet ? LOL

If you read my review you know I was curious about the heat resistance of ETS compared with the known heat resistance of UTTG. Well, I couldn’t leave you guys hanging so I decided to perform a little test. I turned on the “testing oven” J and turned it to 450F. I didn’t place it at 500F because I was hoping the ETS would hold up to UTTG and I wouldn’t be releasing any vapors. Also it would be hard to test if I burnt the coatings off. It had been outside getting rained on today so I dabbed it with a paper towel before placing the testing sheet into the oven.

At about 325F my wife noticed my strange behavior. I had been acting like I was doing other things in front of the oven so she wouldn’t see it was on! LOL, Busted! :bolt: Well, with just the right level of diplomacy (and 13 years of experience) :dunno: I was able to negotiate more time to finish my test! Im the MAN

After allowing the oven to reach 450F I waited approximately 5 more minutes before turning it off and retrieving the panel. Next I allowed it to cool for one hour outside. Finally I brought it back in and placed it under running water where I observed the reactions compared to the “no sealant tapeline”. It appears both coatings are fully intact. Now we will leave the panel outside for the night and in the morning take a picture of the condensation, which will easily show the difference in bead sizes if the coatings are still intact.
