But if I'm going to justify spending $180 for an 8 oz. tub, I do need to hear sound and objective reasons for doing so.
It comes with a cool wooden box

Oh and its $180 for 16oz not 8oz

And I'm certainly not suggesting that it is. But if I'm going to justify spending $180 for an 8 oz. tub, I do need to hear sound and objective reasons for doing so.
I love Fuzion. I have used it on multiple occasions. It is a true pleasure to use. I do not want to dissuade anyone from trying it. But I am hard pressed to justify its $175 retail price. Do a blind side-by-side comparison with, say, CG 50/50 or Wolfgang Sealant and tell me that Fuzion is superior by 3x or 5x. Folks seem to be ganging up on Andrew because he cannot see a difference between Fuzion and P21S. Now maybe he cannot see the obvious; but I have also been playing around with waxes the past two years and I too am hard put to see a real difference between the major players. But I need to qualify this assertion: I do think I saw a difference on my Luthien between Zymol Vintage and everything else I have tried on her ... but maybe it was my imagination. One thing I do know: I would never spend $2,000 on a tub of wax! But of course, that's just me.
I stand by my original counsel: If you want to buy Fuzion, or any other car wax, wait until it goes on sale!
Goodness, now I have to go buy a 911. Thanks!
Great thread Andrew... it has provided quite the entertainment and I think your results were very interesting.
This is the 4 wheel drive, twin turbo Porsche. The thing is scary fast, lowered and stiff so you have to be careful with speed bumps.
What a fun car to detail!
What a sweet car!Earlier this year, I struggled to justify trying Fuzion. Guys like Killerwheels, CEEDOG, and Old Tiger told me to try it. I finally bought it on BOGO for $50 for two 3oz tubs, specifically to use on my buddy's black Porsche (I use it on my cars too). He had been begging me to detail his car for months. That project paid for most of my car care expenses this year.
It's been about a month since I did the car and it hasn't been washed. His wife took the car to the beach today and stopped by on the way home, where I took this picture. She was telling me how people were admiring the car last night and she raves about the car every time I see them.
Maybe Fuzion is not worth the money but I'm sold.

I believe Rob T's argument still has merit. He threw those cars out there as an example but could throw many other cars or any other product out there as well. I could name cars that cost more and drive slower that people like more then cars that equal or rival them and drive faster. There are products of every category that cost more and people like more then products that cost less... and v/v. The only constant discernible reason for someone to buy one product over another is because that is the one they choose to buy. In the end it's about how it looks and makes you feel for each person. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm not arguing that one wax is going to look so much better then the one next to it but if someone likes "A" then they are free to purchase "A". If "A" and "B" look and feel the same to someone else then that's good for them tooThis isn't a socialist country after all. I was lucky enough to get my Fuzion at DF in the goody bag and I like it very much.
Just because you believe something, doesn't mean it is so. So if the beholder believes that wax A looks better than wax B and we had some way of measuring it be untrue, doesn't make a lot of sense to believe what you believe.
My guess is that if you did full blind tests on LSPs (identical cars with good quality prep and different LSPs), 99% of the people wouldn't tell the difference. In fact, I think some guy in England did a test like that on these black cars and found there really was no discernable difference in looks.
Having said that, I think there is a difference between products in ease of application, and durability (although I'm not sure this has ever been proven). So, I think there is plenty of value in picking one product over another, I'm just not sure looks is the best criteria.
I own about 6oz of Fuzion I got in a trade from another member. I think it is a great product. Not knocking it, but like Al, I would find it hard to justify full price based on any characteristics which are important to me.

I also look at it like a good steak. I can roll down to the local Outback and grab a nice filet or ribeye. But I would much prefer a steak from Council Oaks or Capital Grille. They also offer filets and ribeyes at a much more inflated cost. Grain fed, Kobe, and dry aged add to the experience and cost. Maybe I am paying more because of their experience or even the equipment used to prepare it for me.
I think you must be confused with what I have said friend. Read my posts in this thread again. You're trying to argue looks with me but you're arguing with the wrong person. Like I've said a hundred times it's almost impossible to tell the difference between waxes on a properly polished and prepped car. I believe you're arguing something with me that I don't even believe. Did you read my last post?
Edit: btw: there are subtle differences you do see between some waxes and those vary on different paints. I can go get you a picture if you're saying that waxes all look exactly the same.
Dave KG performed that test and like you said he discovered with perfect prep work the LSP you used on top doesnt really make it stand out from another looks wise.
Just put a coat of fusion on my red vette and I'm very pleased with the results . Easy on , easy off and it gave my car a deep rich look .
Is this wax a carnauba or a sealant ?
