Rim protection from brake dust

Hello everyone, been out of the loop for a while and i have never owned a car that had a huge brake dust issue but was wondering what is a good recommendation to help cleaning brake dust off rims during my regular washes? . Wheel wax? Sealant? My camaro dusts the rims so bad i dread using the brakes after i clean the rims. I scrub them every week so nothing gets built up, but anything i can do to speed up the process would be great!

Sweet Ride! I would look into a wheel coating. I've used PBL Wheel for about 1 1/2 years now great stuff.

They do! Its horrible. Even when i am just out for a cruise and not aggressively braking after washing it i get home and you can see it building up

Gyeon Wet Coat after a good thorough iron decontamination. Just spray on Wet Coat and rinse off with pressure. Repeat once per month and you can simply rinse your wheels and blow them dry to remove brake dust.

I'd look into a coating like Carpro Dlux or Gyeon Rim - there are many others too

Give them a decent wash and a thorough decon. Polish (if needed) then coat.

Then maintain with a something like Carpro Reset or Gyeon Bathe+, along with a product like Carpro Hydro or Gyeon Wetcoat.
 
I have used both the Sonax product and McKee's Wheel coating. I find the McKee's product works a little better. The dust generally just rinses off.
 
It makes no more of a "mess" than using a product like HydrO2.

Yes, you will get some product on both the tires and brakes... but it is a non issue.

Overspray onto paint may only be an issue if it is windy, and therefore some common sense comes into play when spraying anything in a windy environment (i.e. Probably not a good idea if you don't want it everywhere).

I have a short review on the DI AAP Blog for Sonax Wheel Rim Shield... I thought it was a nice product.

Anything i can do to save some time on the rims is well worth it since i am ocd bout clean rims!!

Great there goes a couple hundred bucks.....lol

May also wanna consider changing your stock pads. My stock Brembo pads dust insanely, I switched to Hawk Ceramics and what a difference. I actually coated my wheel with CQ UK...

I know that an option but it only has 2000 miles on it and i do plan on taking it to the track, maybe when they are closer to needing replacement i will get something different

I know a few people with bmws that swap out the pads because of the stupid crazy dust blackening out the rims

What is the safe option for rinsing the wheels after sonax rim shield without removing it?

I used Chemical Guys sticky citrus to clean my wheels once I used this product and it did a great job cleaning the wheels while not wearing down the protection, even mixed in DUB and Meg's Mirror Brite wheel cleaner, both color changing wheel cleaners and still, Sonax wheel shield held strong. On my car I got a solid 2 monthes of protection.
