Rinseless Washes - 2022

Have you tried V2 yet? Apparently everyone who tried it hated it immediately. V3 seems to be the best iteration to date.

Nope, haven’t used it yet

Opened it and immediately got that heavy citrus smell like Zep citrus APC

Totally unlike the V1 I had

I wasn’t aware of issues, what’s the problem with it

I watched the Guz's take on it and he hated the smell, the fact that it has MORE surfactants and was foamy with a sponge, and it would streak glass, like V1 would

Smell? Meh, not a deal breaker for me

Foamy using a sponge? Couldn't care less, don't use sponges

Can be streaky on glass? Not a great selling point but V1 would streak

To me Feynlab Pure Rinseless is a stripping wash, not a maintenance wash anyway

If it will still clean old wax and sealants down to the paint and unclog a ceramic coating I can live with streaking on glass

Having said that I can return it if I choose and see about getting V3 if it is actually noticeably better

I haven't even used the Idrosave I bought almost two months ago and I find myself curious about the rinseless washes from Armour Detail Supply, Gyeon, and Koch Chemie. I still have a ton of Absolute, D914, and Feynlab V1 left. Nothing wrong with trying them all because it's nice to have variety.

Every single one I've used has been good. Some have more cleaning ability and sometimes I don't need the strength of the Feynlab. Some leave the paint feeling a little bit slicker after use like Absolute. D914 is good all around but not as enjoyable to use as Absolute. Irdosave, while I haven't used it, might be another good all arounder but I'm worried the sealant could mask the hydrophobics of the coating on my car.

Idrosave formulated to work with coatings…

Did you notice any staining on your towels? One of my major gripes with ONR was even after running my rinseless towels through the washer they were still stained.

No on my light blue EE I noticed no staining but I’m not really bothered long as the come clean. I’ll report back when I use the BRS.

Yah I heard it’s cleans like V1 only slicker. Oh and also doesn’t streak on glass

I would. Haven’t seen one person use it and like v2. Why v3 came out so fast

OK, back it goes

Kind of irked at myself because I don't even remember the V3 being on the Feynlab website a month ago when I was looking, but to be honest, I din't even realize there was a V2 that was different from what I had used previously

Thanks

I think V3 JUST came out.

I believe it just came out, and they have the V2 at half price on the Feynlab site.

Well the V2 is boxed up and going back tomorrow

We are going to be gone for about a week so I’m not ordering anything until we get back

Can’t have stuff freezing on the front porch

Thanks for the input

I guess I’m 1 for 3 on rinseless over the past few months

Got the old N-914 before the new version came out

Got the old Feynlab

The only thing I’m up to speed on is ONR and that’s mostly for household uses

lol

Ok--so a couple of YouTube videos dropped yesterday about Armour Detail Supply Hero rinseless wash (releasing 4/25).

That's joining the recent releases of Feynlab Pure Rinseless v.3, Koch Chemie Rapid Rinseless Wash (Rrw), and a little bit further back Labocosmetica Idrosave. I guess the Gyeon Ecowash is coming sometime, also. Pretty busy time for rinseless. I bit on the Idrosave, I may try the Hero if I buy something else from ADS...I'll never use up all the old rinseless I have, at this rate. At least I've been buying small bottles of the new stuff.

Which people dropped them? I've noticed on some FB groups there's this good 'ol boys club that is growing. It's full of both some manufacturers and detailers. Let's just say there's a lot of group think going on in them and if "part of the club" it's hard to go wrong by them.

It's not to say that they aren't professional or that the products aren't actually good, there's just significant bias. Not one of the videos from that group (all released early like this) mentioned the issues brought up here with Idrosave. I've watched the same group complain about and refuse to review products unless they get them free because pricing is too high. So they immediately determine something like Kamikaze Overcoat is junk due to price.

I'll be anxiously awaiting the reviews here on AGO as a result and those others taken with a grain of salt.

It was the manufacturer and EC Details.

I started a rant thread about the YouTube detailers over on Autopia, so I'm not disagreeing.

Yeah I feel that Armor has a group of YouTubers they got with early on…. Haven’t heard anything bad and a lot here seem to like.

I get the feeling reading from website that they don’t manufacture there own products.

Wonder who there blender is?

I ordered Idrosave anRapid rinseless because these companies manufacture there chemicals so hoping for something different.

ADS is a hybrid, wonder if it’s same blender as DiY? Although I do here this has good slickness which I did not get from DiY.

I just watched the DMS video on Hero, and I have to say it's getting tiring watching "shock and awe" vids about new washes that are able to clean your car, can be used on interiors, and make the water in the bucket dirty...like every other rinseless wash for the last 15 years. It's just the flavor-of-the-month club in a different format, with people making money off of it. Since Hero doesn't "leave anything behind", I'm not sure that adds anything to my arsenal of rinseless that I'm trying to use up, although the dirt release from the media looked very nice...let's see if I can control myself if I wind up ordering something else from ADS.

I wouldn't order a single thing until I use up,give away,or throw away what I have. Being that,I only ordered one product back last summer. I'm clearly not a flavor of the month guy.

Yeah. And nothing against ADS as I like their products and like their owners. I'm just tired of seeing these YT videos that clearly end with a plug for certain brands or scream "you want to see a product tested? Send it to me (FREE) and I'll test!" It would be more meaningful for one to put the money out and have some skin in the game. When they start ripping on other brands without ever using them, that's when I lose all respect.

Again, another reason to keep such resources like this going. Everyone here is pretty realistic and doing their own testing with their own investment. It's even amazing the night and day difference between this forum and the Facebook AGO page... bunch of ego maniac detailers there.

I am envious of your restraint. (Not even joking)

There's always somebody who has to have the latest and supposedly greatest. I've been guilty of it in several areas but I'm finding myself doing less and less because those latest things never really wowed me.
