Rinseless Washes - 2022

Yeah I’m still not in rinseless washing wheels.

Well there's always plenty left over afterwards, give it a shot. I always use the leftover to even out my tires & wheels and to wipedown the engine bay, even spray a bunch in the wheelwells.

Primus 2.0 comes today so I'll be trying it out tonight or tomorrow.

Primus 2.0 is the real deal. It works great as a prewash to a rinseless or bucket wash. I like that you can use it at different dilutions depending on how dirty the car is. I've been using it 1:100 sprayed on the vehicle, let it dwell for a few minutes and then rinse it off. I would say it easily gets the car 85% clean. Then I just use McKees N-914 V2 for a much safer and easier rinseless wash. My car has never looked better using this combo.

Thanks for the feedback this is what I'm looking for. As I said before, using Primus 2.0 for pre-wash, wheels and bucket wash followed up with Idrosave which has protection may be a winning combination.

I still haven't found a rinseless method I like for wheels/tires, or maybe I just haven't bothered yet to find one I like, but I would think you would want to flush that off...on the other hand, Labo seems to have a pretty good handle on their chemistry, these 3pH products seem to be "buffered"...but what do I know.

I can use ONR or N914 and easily clean the wheels on either of the Hybrids but they both have sealant on the wheels and there is something about the Hybrid brakes that just doesn't get near as dirty as some braking systems

Getting tires clean with RW is another matter but that's probably because I am still stuck in the "303, PERL, VRP" days of tire dressing and they just don't clean up as easily as they would with a tire coating of some kind, or at least that is my understanding of the issue

It wasn't until today I thought I had the 3PH and realized my Primus is old. Now I'll have to poke around and see if I can find the difference between Primus and Primus 2.0. I thought it was just a packaging thing as I got the old bottles on a retailer sell-off.

Most of this is not used (except Idrosave and maybe one prewash with Primus) as it was acquired in Winter this year. I need to get on it.

This discussion has been great - got some things to try now as I also don't do wheels in a rinseless unless I cheat and pull out a hose.

I went to the clean garage. And I noticed that there are two separate systems

By the way, if your paint looks dull, then use Purifica 1:100 in a bucket wash after using Primus 2.0 as a prewash. Purifica is super slick and really makes a dark colored vehicle pop. Then do a quick follow up with your favorite rinseless or bucket wash to neutralize the acid of Purifica. If you do all three you can probably skip claying on most vehicles. The Labocosmetica 3ph system really works that good at decontaminating the paint.

Which two are you seeing? I've always seen Primus, Purifica and Semper.

I see PCC changing out Semper for a coating shampoo.

Then I believe there will be one for RW that's revised to have Preludio + Idro?

Definitely not complicated

Hmmm... only seeing this one. Maybe the sold out part is why?

If you want to do a bucket wash with protection as the last step of the 3 ph system, then you use Revitax instead of Semper.

They increased the cleaning power of Primus 2.0 and added lubrication to make it a bucket wash. The pH is 11 (I believe per that video I linked) which I think is perfect. Usually anything over 12 you can potentially start to degrade your LSP. So 11 is kind of a sweet spot IMO. Plus it's highly dilutable and versatile.

Just did a wash with Primus 2.0. I did a 1:50 pre-wash and it worked great. Truck wasn't super dirty, so I can't say yet how well it cleans. What surprised me the most was the lubrication from the bucket wash. Incredible lubrication at 1:100. Very impressed. Rinses very clean and cleans great. Used it on wheels and it worked perfectly. This will be my pre-wash, shampoo, wheel cleaner going forward. Now I just need to try Idrosave.
